( Said as casually as you would ask about someone's birthday. She could make a guess at who it belongs to, but there's no point assuming that her neighbour is the only blind person in the city. Who would assume so crudely? )

[Whistler's initial reaction is a brand of humored skepticism. Was his neighbor trying to play a prank on him? After all, given his hermit lifestyle how is he supposed to know that strange items from home were just cropping up around town? And he had teased her on multiple occasions so turn about is fair play. But it puzzles him for a few lip-biting minutes. It just doesn't sit right as a prank. It's simultaneously too minimalist and too specific for a truly good prank and he holds his neighbor in higher esteem than that. She'd have thought of something better, surely.

But if it wasn't a prank...that would mean....

....Alright. The Gods got him this time and he can't deny the fact that his face is starting to feel like its burning. Mother had got him the damn thing as a joke a few years back but the joke had somewhat backfired when Whistler had decided to keep it. And why shouldn't he have kept it? Its not like he has many options as a blind man who spends his life rolling around in a van full of tech nerds.]

[He's one third laughing it off, one third laughing at himself, and one third almost too bashful to send this message and the three of these emotions switch places with each other one moment after the other. ]
