Voice | Why can't we seem to keep it together?

[Jo didn't get sick for two days.

And then it hit and she retreated, only leaving her room when absolutely needed and trying to avoid her housemates so they didn't get sick. (Could grim reapers get sick? Jo didn't want to chance it.)

On her second day of illness, when she feels the worst - well. She starts worrying about Osiris, about Meg, about Lucifer, even if there's a niggling voice in the back of her mind saying they couldn't be here.

Jo has no idea what to do about the Egyptian god, but Meg? She can handle that.

The audio post starts with a cough and sniffles before Jo speaks.]

I need paint. Color isn't important. Rock salt, if anyone's got that. [God, she misses regular stores.]

I can trade food. [She clears her throat as if she might say more, but then the broadcast ends.

She doesn't want to say too much, just in case.]

Well, we've got monsters? But they're usually good about sticking to the outside of town. And I'm sure there's the occasional creeper?

I'm not talking about those monsters. [She lets out a long breath, shaking her head.]

Really? Then, what kind of monsters are you talking about?

...holy shit. Those monsters. How'd they get here, it's nowhere near new people day.

If I knew I'd be less worried. [Worried is an understatement.]

You think maybe the gods are just fucking with us?

[Jo sniffles and sighs.]

That's always a possibility.

Yeah. I mean, they've fucked with our heads before? What made you think that the monsters from your world were here?

I don't know that someone or something hasn't been here the whole time.

Exactly. [Jo sighs.]

Plus some of these things can jump bodies. It's almost useless.

Jump bodies? Like possession? That's not fair.

[She nods.]

No, it's not. Demons don't care about fair.

No, I guess they wouldn't. 'Cause demons.

How can you tell if someone's been possessed?

Behavior changes, cringing when they hear Jesus Christo or that kind of thing. Holy water burns them. Usually, they can't cross hallowed ground or a salt line.

[Salt is versatile. Jo needs more of it.]

I haven't noticed anybody acting like that? Granted, I also don't usually name drop Jesus.

Until they suddenly go "rar, demon" at us?
