duel 7. ( video. )
「Atem hasn't made a network post ever since he was still wearing that strange golden eye, which, is long gone by now, so, there he is, with an important question, for him, at least.」
Ever since I got here I've heard people asking, what do people do here for fun? I was one of those people too, and honestly, the answers were lacking, they still are. Maybe we should change that.
As some of you know there is a casino on the second floor of the Speakeasy, and while gambling can pretty fun, it might not be for everyone. I wish to add all sort of games that everyone can enjoy. So, please, tell me about the games you know, the ones from your homes, what did you use to play for fun? Henry, I'm sorry, we cannot fit a jousting competition in there, 「Sorry dude, 」 but I will try my best to bring something else.
I know there are more pressing matters at hand, but there always are, there always will be something else, and this is what some of us might need right now, a different let-out that's not just fighting, maybe just for relaxation, for fun, for the excitement of the competition, or even to make new friends over a game you enjoy. There is no better feeling than it.
「Kaiba, he's looking at you, not every damn game has to end on someone dying.」
Ah-- there used to be poker nights too, we might as well bring back that tradition, 「Hats off to you, Firo, wherever you are.」 and, if you can beat me at it, you might get a prize. Actually... 「He smirks, smugly.」 if any of you can beat me at a game of your choosing, you may get a little something.
「You are not getting a damn thing, he's the bloody King of Games, bitches.」
Don't forget the Welcome Dance Night at the Speakeasy, we are eager to see you there.
「He adds with a warm smile, and the feed ends.」

「Bring it on, Lady Death!」
[video]
Reminds me, I still must introduce you to Ur sometime! [Ancient board games for the win.]
I doubt you'll find copies at the shops here, but I am certain it won't be difficult to craft one.
Hey-- yeah! I remember that. Of course, I can make one. It might be a little different from the one you used to play. You should help me.
Oh, but changing the rules up is part of the fun.
I think I would like that, though.
We should make our own rules, our own game.
Now you're talking. I have no doubt that will come natural enough to you.
「He's not so sure he can do it, to be honest. Yugi always was the one with the creative ideas...」
Hey, Ravine... Do you use your abilities when you play?
「AKA: do you cheat??!?!? How does she turn that off anyway?」
[video]
[Come on, son. Ravine has faith in you.
[She pauses at his question, mulling over it.]
It isn't something I can so easily stop, if that's what you mean. I do not intentionally mean to cheat, however, so I have to -- how do I say this? -- think up "static" to scramble up all the probabilities. Make things more of a challenge than a certitude.
I think we've talked about this before, but, have you ever seen the lowest probability happen?
Anyway, I suppose what you are asking is whether or not I have been witness to such a phenomenon before my own eyes, and in which case, yes. There have been some events that even I failed to see.
[Those aren't events that she cares to think about very much.]
「Once they talked about it, how things didn't go as predicted.」
I don't suppose you know what's gonna happen... here?
「As in Hadriel. Usually he wouldn't give it so much importance but can't stop being a little curious.
But he just backpedals this fast!」
You know what, never mind, I don't wanna know.
[And one that she isn't going to indulge him on completely. Sorry, Atem.]
What I can say is that things would have gone much differently if they went any other way.
Hope's death, for example. [She should not be smiling when she says those words. No one should be.]
Something tells me it probably isn't as amusing as you make it sound.
「Ravine, pls.」
[video]
For one thing, Hope is not the only one capable of resurrecting others. He is merely the most proficient at it.
There is also the matter of sustainence, for those who require it. [Ravine is lucky in that regard.]
I don't think I need to see every path of possibilities to know that we would be doomed without him.
「Which reminds him...
Private.」
That weapon, what did it do to you?
[She pauses.]
The godkiller weapon, you mean?
Suppose it almost did to me what it had to their species.
Kill them?
「How do you kill what's already... dead?」
[video|private]
[With Hope, at least they have a mean of survival. Reapers usually don't. It's hard to come back from non-existence.]
Back in your ... where you come from, is there anything that has that power?
Our weapons. They can be used in different ways -- sending souls over or reaping them from existence, which may only be done in extreme cases, such as a malignant spirit or to... destroy one of our own, in the event of corruption.
What could corrupt a soul?
「He may have a very good idea, but knowing might be better.」
[video|private]
Us, to an extent.
They are either remnants of our failures when they evade their reaping, be it through sheer will of their own or carelessness of ours. Spend too much time in the wrong place, they go mad, lonely, angry. Their despair rots everything they used to be until that's all they are.
We are not exceptions to this fate, being souls ourselves. [Just souls with benefits.]
Nope, nopety, nope!」
I see.
「That's all. Let's... yeah, that's all.」
