[ Give her a second.

The feed is shaky and unsteady, focus coming in and out. It's, no joke, like a good 30 seconds before Boss stops fumbling with the phone. Sorry, hope you enjoy the close up of her face and hands.

Once she's confident that she has the video feed working, she pulls the phone away like she's taking a selfie (arm's length, good angle on her face, big camera loving smile, holds still) but slowly... Slowly from the bottom of the screen her other hand appears.

Holding up a middle finger.

She doesn't stop until the bird's right next to her cheek. Hi. This is what she thinks of all of this, everything, right now.

... After holding the pose for a few seconds, she's back to fumbling with the phone. She's mouthing curses with no sound coming out as she tries to figure out how to get the damn thing back into text mode. Her point is made, she'd like to be able to actually communicate now! ]

[Avisheh, meanwhile, is clearly at the Speakeasy and drunk as hell if the glazed over look in her eyes is any indication. Not that she'd be any less glazed over normally, in light of the event. Losing your intelligence is some shit, let her tell you.]

[ Hold on. Somehow Boss manages to turn the video off and on a few times, but still doesn't manage getting back to texting. She's just that bad at tech. After a moment, she gives up and flashes another middle finger at Avisheh in response, this time without the big, charismatic smile. Yeah, real great time.

Asshole. She hopes her roommate can read lips.

That being 'said,' Boss mimes drinking from a bottle with a raise of her eyebrows before pointing at the camera. ]

[Normally, she could probably read lips, especially ones enunciated so obviously, but Avisheh just squints at the mouthed words. "I know," maybe? She opts not to guess and make a fool of herself any more than she already has throughout this whole debacle.

The charades, though, are a bit less hard to follow, and Avisheh grins languidly and raises a glass of some ungodly concoction of mostly clearish yellow alcohol into view of the camera. It's vodka, rum, and tequila, if you were wondering. It looks and tastes like piss, but she's not drinking it for the taste.]

'S medicine. For my lost voice.

[ It looks disgusting, but in that dreadful way that Boss needed. Look, the lost voice comment gets a heavy eye roll from her because, really? Really. But the thought of doing something other than being mopey on the phone is...

... Boss thumps a finger against her chest and then pokes it toward the phone.

I'm coming. ]

[Avisheh raises her glass welcomingly, spilling some on the counter as she does, and then takes a big, messy swig of it, spilling more on her shirt. She finishes it off with a shake of her head at the bite of alcohol, and then slurs the rest of her speech.]

By all means, girl. Door's wide open.

i give it one star. not terrible for a first attempt at movie-making.

[ Oh. Fuck you, Boss mouths, her teeth gritting. You should've seen the Saints vine account, you have no idea - But, wait, she has no voice, so... She throws the phone and knocks a table over in the process.

After a second she picks the phone back up and with a silent, dramatic sigh, she mimes texting. Aw, she hunt and pecks. Anyway, after she does she heavily shrugs her shoulders and tips her head like she's asking a question.

How? ]

how was it bad? i mean, the first half of it was just an extreme close-up. interesting stylistic choice, but not the one i'd have gone with, since the rest of the film was pretty low-energy, no dialogue...

though i'll give you credit for the relatable message.

[ Boss is, as the kids say, big mad. It takes every ounce in her to not throw the phone again, but she does squeeze it so hard that the video distorts a little, so that's fun.

Wait. ]

[ Boss stops dead in her tracks and stares at the screen like a dog who just saw a squirrel run across the yard with a t-bone. ]

[Though frankly, Sonya would take being mute over what's happening with her right now. Finding other ways to communicate sucks, but it's better than having legs that, right now, are just for show.]
