[ thankfully, the partying has finally died down. ciri has actually been able to enjoy some restful sleep in silence without the sudden explosions of fireworks or the deep bass of constant music. she still looks tired but settles the device in a safe place, sitting back with her silver sword in hand and carefully beginning to clean the blade. ]

A lot of us here have powers. Magic, alchemy and other such skills but I find myself curious. Has anyone else suffered having their powers taken from them? I've only had a portion of mine fully removed while the rest has been... dampened, I suppose.

[ she's pretty sure she knows why she was stripped of a portion of her powers. after all, it wouldn't be good if she could just leave this world when they were clearly brought here for some reason. still, she is curious if it was this 'door' or those 'gods' that are the cause. ]

Also: there are those here that wish to learn how to wield a sword, yes? I can help with that if you're serious. I can also teach others how to make bombs and potions. We had many potions back home that proved useful against monsters and other beasts, I am hoping they can prove useful here as well.

I don't use magic, but I do feel different. They took away a part of me that makes me feel... disconnected now.

I'd be very interested in learning about the potions you mention. Would we need to have existing magical skill to use them? I've sadly never managed that, despite my best efforts.

My powers are not magic either. At least, not the sort of thing someone would consider magic back home since mine are more... singularly unique. [ perhaps the best way to put that. ] Disconnected? How so?

No magical skills needed, thankfully or else I wouldn't be able to brew them myself. All you need is patience and a strong stomach.

My powers don't effect my ability to defend myself, thankfully. They just... they would have allowed me to leave this place, leave this world.

I've lost access to whole world of information. My ports were disabled and now I can't talk to any of the tech here.

[ immediately, her brows furrow. ciri is not so unfamiliar with advanced technology. she has visited several worlds full of it but honestly? she never really had the chance to get used to it all. still, she remembers the world full of people with metal in their heads.

That's quite something to lose. For me, time and space was nothing. I could travel to different worlds, different times and now it is all lost to me. I'm trapped in this place when I should be able to leave.

Do you mean that your powers are less now that you're here, or that they are less because of something that happened before you got here?

I am also intrigued by the mention of bombs. What sorts of bombs can you make?

I think that is far more of a loss than mine.

If only I had something like that before, when an A.I. sent me to an alternate reality. Except it couldn't bring us back. It took fourteen years for me to figure it out. I don't think the grounded feeling ever really goes away when you're in the moment. You just have to keep going...

They have been less since my arrival. I could teleport, I suppose. Not just from one side of the street to the other but across vast oceans and continents. I should be able to leave this cave without issue but my powers have weakened incredibly since I woke up here.

Oh, I know many sorts. Your typical ignited, throw and fiery explosion bombs are easy enough.

But I know recipes for bombs that release clouds of poison gas or gas that can be ignited later. Samum is a bomb that can blind your opponents temporarily and demeritium bombs can block the use of magic. Of course, there are ones like grapeshot that are filled with shrapnel.

I had been running for a long time. Going from world to world and living in strange places for periods of time.

[ a futuristic city where ships flew, a world of unicorns at its end and an undersea kingdom. each one stuck out in her mind. ]

But I had finally been able to go home, go back to my world and actually stay. To be ripped away from it and to have my powers taken from me? It's infuriates me.

Unfortunately we don't know a lot about how we lost them. So it might be a while before we figure out how to get them back.

It sucks.

How does one make a bomb that blocks the use of magic?

I'm not familiar with the term but yes, I could travel across continents without the use of any instruments. I could even travel to different worlds.

It's the dimeritium, it's a very rare and precious metal that represses the transfer of magical energies. It's pretty easy to make a bomb that can release a cloud of it assuming you have access to the stuff which is... easier said than done here.

I have one but it was on me when I arrived here.

I'll figure it out somehow. I refuse to rot away in some cave, forced to play to the whims and tantrums of children that calls themselves gods.

I have suffered it before; I remain intact here, though. What have you lost, Ciri dear?

[ Limiting abilities? Well, he can't exactly blame the people who claim to be 'gods' to do so. It makes him frown a little regardless - he doesn't think he's had the same happen to him, considering he still had use of Mugen and its abilities. ]

I haven't, but can't say I put it past them.

So that's not the kind of bomb that can be made with supplies here.

Of the ones you listed, what ones do you think you could teach others here to make? If you were willing, that is.

That we know of. We're trapped in a massive cave filled with monsters from the worlds we occupy brought through that door. I doubt anyone has done a metallurgy study so it might be worth looking into.

But in the meantime, I know I can definitely make the following: dancing star (typical explosion), grapeshot (shrapnel), samum (blinding) and likely devil's puffball which releases a cloud of poison. Certainly plenty of things around here that could be used in place of more typical poisons.

I could travel between worlds without issue. It was as natural to me as walking but now it's rather lost to me, I call on it and nothing happens. Leaving this cave, leaving this world... it shouldn't be an issue for me.

[ but she's still here. ] It's unsurprising they took it away from me. They can't have us all vanishing as soon as we arrive.

Everything's fine with mine. Although this place is causing other types of problems with them. [ Which she has something of a grip on, after spending more time out with the beasts that plague this place than she would rather. But still, it frustrates Kate that she has to reconfigure all the things she could do without thinking, just to make her enchantments work. ]

It rather makes sense in my regard but I couldn't help being curious about everyone else.
