Voice un: Sunai; A Performance
[Since his powers had come back, Leo has been seized with one thought in mind. He's got to find something to eat. Or rather, someone, a sinner with a soul dark enough that it'll satisfy him. He's got an idea, which is likely not going to endear him to a lot of people, but he doesn't give a fuck. There's no introduction when the audio starts, just the sound of a guitar being played in an odd finger-picking style most players don't use.
It just sounds so nice, doesn't it? Like the most beautiful song you've ever heard. You just want to keep listening to it and hope it doesn't stop. Eventually, it sends all the listeners into a calm and blissful state, which considering how things are around here, isn't the worst idea in the world. It does also provide a compulsion to confess. It can be the telling of a regret never realized, someone's worst sins, or anything in between. When he's played for about a minute or so, he finally speaks.]
Anyone out there listening to this?
[If he's ended up putting anyone under his thrall, they'll most likely answer before they even realize what they're doing. Sunai songs are powerful things.]
[OOC: Good time to check out his permissions post beforehand so you and I can know your character will react and be affected!]

audio; rip
What the fuck do you think you're doing? Turn that shit off. Now.
no subject
Hmm, no, I don't think I will.
[He's gonna see how many little flies can be drawn into the spider's web. When he's as hungry as he is right now, all bets are off.]
no subject
[Harlan's not exactly sure what he's expecting out of this, though. Obviously Leo's not going to listen to him.
But, still. He can't stay quiet and just let this happen.]
no subject
[He says the words calmly, continuing to play his guitar.]
This song is how I judge everyone, you ignoramus. Consider it a census. Which seeing the fact it doesn't seem to be working on you either means you don't have a soul-- [He mutters the words "wouldn't surprise me" under his breath.] --or there's more to you than I initially thought.
voice!
Cool, this is definitely what we need right now. What the fuck is this supposed to be?
no subject
[Sunai are incapable of lying, but they can skirt around the truth, which is precisely what he's going to do here.]

[That's a new one for him. Either she doesn't have a soul or there's something else at work here. Until then, he'll just continue to pluck at the strings of his guitar, the song beginning to wind down. He never usually gets to play it all the way through, for the victim is dead long before ever hearing it.]
Audio
So she does pay attention and as soon as he speaks, whoops-]
Yes?
no subject
[A Sunai's song could stop a whole room of people dead in their tracks. It was a powerful thing, but then, it had to be to steal the soul of a person away.]

[It's that little nudge, just enough for those under the sway of the song to confess. It only works in sinners, so he's testing the waters here.]
no subject
About what? [She has regrets, but not much guilt.]
audio
Yes.
[ Blissful is not a state he himself would recognize. Nonetheless, there’s a strange contentment, clear even through voice alone. A far cry from the usual monotone or rage others may have encountered. ]
It’s a lovely piece.
no subject
Thank you. I composed it myself.
[It had all just come to him the first time he'd ever heard a piece of music. It happened different for each Sunai depending on what instrument they heard. Leo had heard a song composed of many different instruments and so the ability to play anything he could get his hands on had always stayed with him.]
no subject
Why broadcast it for the rest of us?
[ With the effects of the spell, there’s no suspicion behind the words. Only curiosity. ]
no subject
[Sunai can't directly tell a lie, but Leo's learned to get around that over the years by telling a version of the truth. What he's saying has a double meaning, for he thinks they could use something like this, but more for the purposes of deciding who to feed upon than a more altruistic one.]
Besides, I wasn't able to play the entire time. Pure torture.
no subject
[ More than imagine. The past week has been torture and even under the calming effect, a ghost of his former fury remains. ]
voice
It's very relaxing. What's the name of the piece?
no subject
[Sunai simply knew their songs the way they knew the back of their hand. Each one was unique to each individual.]
no subject
[She gives a contended sigh.]
Maybe you're right. It doesn't need a name.
no subject
[It certainly was something that was useful here. Even if he wasn't doing it for the most altruistic purposes, it was a good way to feel after everyone had to have been feeling stressed out with losing their senses.]
no subject
[She chuckles.]
Maybe your music is like a drug.
Voice
Not bad.
no subject
Faint praise, but I'll take it.

Hn
[He's not much of a conversationalist, which is why he normally avoids talking to people with these phones. If look closely you might see a twitch in his eye as he tries to figure out why he responded at all.]
[Voice]
His voice is quiet when he responds, for a few different reasons.]
Yes. That's an unusual playing style; is there a particular reason you use it?
[He knows the basics of guitar but not a lot of details, and so although he can recognize that the way Leo plays is out of the ordinary he doesn't know anything more than that. However, he plays piano, and whatever the instrument people often develop their own techniques for reasons that are usually pretty interesting.]
no subject
Instinct mostly.
[Leo automatically knows how to play any instrument he picks up, but he doesn't always understand the reasons why he plays the way he does. His powers hadn't come with an instruction manual.]
no subject
How long have you been playing?
no subject
[Ever since he was created as a teenager.]
It is rather calming. Makes someone feel a bit like confessing.
[But that's a compulsion that affects sinners more than innocent souls, so Lance won't really be affected at all.]
no subject
Do you play any other instruments?
audio;
I like this a lot, it's so nice and it makes me want to go to sleep without sleeping so I can just listen forever!
[A few days ago, this probably wouldn't have had any effect on him, but here he is, his soul back and ready to make him talk way too much way too suddenly.]
Hello I'm Hayden, Mister Music Man, sir!
no subject
There's a soft huffing sound from Leo that most people wouldn't recognize as being soft laughter coming from him.]
Hello there. My name is Leo Flynn. It is rather nice music, isn't it? Very relaxing.
