[Henry stands with the sea stretching out behind him, wearing a frown on his face. His tone of voice is sharp and his words are direct.]
Guardsmen, report in. Tell me what pieces of this splintered city surround you and who is with you on your island.
[He keeps it short. The sooner they work out who is where, the better, and this
is the quickest means of finding out.]

[Simple enough; it's Henry's next inquiry that takes Glacius by surprises. He keeps forgetting what a simple man the leader of the Guard can be. The alien blinks, starting off with an automatic explanation.] Oxygen? Why, it is... [Wait, how is he going to explain this? If the human has never heard of oxygen before, then he will likely only be more confused if he starts talking about chemicals and elements. The ice alien tilts his head.]
... It is, ah. A component of nature produced by plants that is found in air and water. It is important to many processes of the body, including breathing. You humans are not able to filter it from water, hence your inability to breathe when submerged, but I can. It is part of why I am able to traverse the ocean so easily.

[That answers that. He never imagined air as being made up of smaller things. Huh.]
Give me full reports on any you explore, in that case. If they have naught of use we must mark that too.
