t w o . ( TEXT ) . we stood up, we stood up

General Notice:

I'm looking for people with powers to run some tests on. It involves being observed using your abilities, but that's it. Can't exactly give you much for it, unless you need an alarm system.

First wave of testing will take place in a week near the colosseum. There may be second or third waves in future. Testing is expected to take several hours overall.

Any questions?

( asdlkhg )

Double, double, toil and trouble, but you got the gist of it.

But not really. Not quite - even if there is a lot of mixing and incantations involved. Close enough.

( let it never be said that he didn't study his shakespeare. )

Everything has to start somewhere. Where do you think myths and legends come from?

( well, it is a pretty well-known fact that parents make things up just to terrify the crap out of their kids. )

I'm not denying the fact that some things originated as stories and nothing else, but when you think about it, it makes sense that SOME things might have a little bit of truth to them, no matter where or when they were started.

( there should be classes on it. )

Vampires aren't allergic to garlic.

( are we really going that route rn sam. are we. )

( it should be, if it isn't already. )

A lot of stories say as much. Along with aversions to crucifixes, the sun and needing to sleep in coffins.

( chili pepper? really? )

Really?

( that's interesting. )

( well that makes more sense than trying to picture a human-shaped thing hanging upside down from prehensile toes, or something equally strange. )

But now I'm thinking about vaguely-humanoid things hanging upside down by their toes.

It's an interesting mental image.

( way, way less.

and she wouldn't know it, but he totally just chuckled. sincerely.
)

Maybe somewhere along the line they got crossed with some kangaroo DNA - that would make them even more deadly.

( sam ... no ... )

( sam no. )

That wouldn't be very threatening, would it?

But ... maybe.

( don't let the gods get wind of this. one of them is sure to attempt to recruit them. and then it really will be over. )

But turning into a bat would have to be the best part of being a vamp. I mean, what's so great about having to drink blood for the rest of your life?

( do we need to go back and talk about your demon blood addiction. do we. )

Maybe it's one of those things that you just get used to the more you do it?

( that makes sense, right? )

( in his experience, shapeshifting is just downright gross. in the case of actual shapeshifters. for things like werewolves ... eh. maybe just painful. )

Maybe we just can't understand because we've never experienced something like that.

( he's not wrong, but way to get all philosophical, sam. sheesh. )
