[The video flickers on. Ianchus is lying on his side, holding his phone the same way, looking bruised up and exhausted, for all his good cheer in text. His expression is hard to read.]

Was it...Was it bad? What did Yusuke do?

That was pretty bad, yeah.
I probably shouldn't go into detail because I think that's part of what messed up Yusuke.

[For a moment Ianchus' face twists, a hard irritation taking over. Of course, he can't see Michael, but Michael can certainly see him.]

Why did you--why didn't you get him away--why--in front of him.

[It's not often he's struck speechless. Ianchus grits his teeth, and then his expression breaks a little. He has no one to be angry at but himself, after all.]

[Unseen on his end, Michael winces. Yeah, he deserves that.]

This probably doesn't help but most of it was already everywhere before I got there?

Anyway it's not like I could convince him to get lost.

[The view on the camera abruptly, dizzily spins, showing the sky, then sand, then sky, cliffs, sand, then darkness--it's enough to confuse anyone until they realize what happened. Ianchus has thrown the phone.

He doesn't usually lash out, doesn't usually show his anger. Or else he does it with a smile. Caedra is likely familiar with that smile--bared teeth are bared teeth, after all.

But it's the feeling of helplessness, the anger than he knows is unjustified (Michael was just doing his...job?). He has no one to blame but himself.

There's silence, and then he speaks--the video feed has either been jolted off or has been switched off, so it's just his voice, sounding more tired.]

...I apologize. You did what you thought was right. I...I imagine it would be important to you to know what happened.

[Stop being so selfish, Ianchus Cepheos. A dead body is a sign of danger to anyone who doesn't have any other context.]

[Oh, hmm. That's bad. Michael's actually surprised when Ianchus even responds, and he feels like he owes him at least the courtesy of audio.]

Uh, no, some of that is fair. I'm not really great at the whole tact thing. I wanted to know if I could figure out who did it, but without a lab, I should've known it was pointless anyway.

[All he figured out was that someone took his heart. And used something sharp. So... literally anyone could've done it.]

Sorry for, well. I'm not sure what to apologize for exactly. Desecration?

Ah, that's not a problem at all. I don't care about...all that.

[Honestly he doesn't want to say it, but the entire idea of someone rooting around his corpse, musing over it, is somewhat thrilling. But he's absolutely not going to say that.]

But...Thank you. Really, I'm just worried about Yusuke. [He gives a little laugh, and his voice gives a hint of the weakness he's holding back.]

Aahhh. I didn't realize it'd hurt him that much. And I imagine he'd be pretty cross at me for this, ah?
