So, uh, hey everyone. Julie here. [Wave!]
It looks like, um... Serah's gone, if you knew her, so that's something. But-- [She takes a breath, seemingly steeling herself against the news she just gave out. Serah was - is - her friend, and she'll miss her.]
But before she went, we were talking to Tranquility about planting some trees outside his temple. Looks like that's not the only place that could use it though, right? [The smile that comes to her face is small and crooked, a little awkward. She hadn't been to the other islands in a while, but when she did... People have been busy.]
I did some farming back home, but I don't think I can plant a whole forest by myself. Soooo... anyone want to start a project? Bet there's people here who can make seeds sprout by magic, right?

I don't see why we can't supplement a few more apples here than whatever you were eating there.
[Better than whatever the Hell "carbtien" is. It sounds like a cross between hard tack and jerked meat.]
The state of the orchard is, frankly, fucked. [Maeve opines, not one to mince her words.] But some of the remaining trees actually grow better from cuttings than they do from seeds. It's a good starting place.

And anything is better than carbtien. She would be happy to never have to see another cube of it in her entire life. Those small, white, chalky cubes of pure vitamins and energy could keep you alive, but it sure as hell wasn't living.
Julie doesn't flinch at Maeve's choice of words. She happens to agree.]
Do you know which ones? We could make a start with those way more easily than collecting seeds.

[The apple trees - what few there are - should be most effective, given the climate. They don't have many options, but it's enough to start and she is intent on knowing who around here gives enough of a shit to maintain resources.
They'll be useful in the future.]
I can meet you there shortly - it isn't as though we haven't got the time.

Yeah, I guess so. [Because what is Julie doing with her time, really, except for poking her head into the clinic now and then? Maybe that's why she wants to do this.
A root to put down, metaphorically speaking.]
Okay, I can be there soon.

See you there.
[It's good to have something to do, particularly in a place this desolate, and since Maeve's primary are all but foiled - since she has been unceremoniously cut off from the Mesa network - she needs personal application. Interest in it won't last long, but she intends to do what she can.
The orchard is quiet, a desolate cluster of trees numbering under a dozen (perhaps half that) and the sad sight of trunks cut nearly to the root. She stoops to scoop a handful of dirt, rubbing it between her fingers with a frown.]
Fuck.

She arrives not long after Maeve, not quite in time to hear her curse. A soft, huffing sigh escapes her as she looks around at the place.]
This is gonna take a lot of work.
