Dictation - x02 - [Video]
I am aware that the library was destroyed during the invasion of these, um, these Null creatures. But I wondered if there has been any effort at all to try and replenish any small part of it. Whether it be journals or essays or books...
[A pause as he awkwardly rubs a hand through his hair. He's never been that comfortable making public statements]
...would there be any interest in doing so? In writing and sharing writing on whatever it is you would be interested in writing about? And with that, are there any people here who currently have books in their possession that they would be willing to lend to another? With the promise that they would be kept safe, of course.

i dont have shit for books but i miss the library.
have u thought abt making a deal w. one of the gods to get it back? i bet they could hook us up w. some books.
prob nothing good. lmao. but better than nothing?

How exactly would that transaction work?
no subject
if its something theyre willing to do u have to pay for it. theyll ask u to do something for them.
i think its usually shit to generate w.e emotion they need. if u ask hope hes gonna want u to do shit that makes ppl feel hope. etc.
i made a deal w. love once.
they asked me to express my love for three ppl.
the gods need power to pull that kind of shit off. thats y they have u do shit for em. its an energy boost.

[The transaction seems simple enough, but Rosen finds something objectively perverse about the mining of emotions in the pursuit of a reward.
That and he's never been good at the whole 'emotions' thing to begin with. It gets too messy]
Can I ask what the scale of the thing you were asking for was? More specifically: how would it compare as a request to something like a library in terms of how difficult it'd be for the god in question to produce.

my bf died a few months ago.
it was during the null invasion and hopes energy was shot. when he brought michael back something was fucked up w. his head.
i asked love to fix it.
its not a big secret but i dont want to dish on his personal shit on a public network.
love said the request was tricky but not impossible. obvs. michaels fine now.
im not sure how that ranks against providing a library tho.
my gut says the library would be easier.

It would also depend how the gods weigh certain kind of tasks. By size, by difficulty, by nature of the thing...
no subject
idk how they fixed michael but they did. hes back to normal.
the payment is based on difficulty.
it was with love anyway.
my end of the deal was meant to give them the energy to do the request.
other gods might weight it differently. idk.

Maybe some base teachings of Portuguese could be of value? I know that at least.
I can also keep an eye out for lost or hidden books. I tend to travel about, even in this charming weather. If I find anything during my travels actually worth putting in a library I'll let you know.

If you don't mind my asking, are you a native of Portugal?

Save for this current journey, of course.

It is, technically, but the nature of intent is...well...skewed.

Everything about this is skewed. But this makes me feel more in control.

[ He holds up a battered paperback YA novel titled Caleb Cleveland: Kid Cop! The Case of the Cursed Candelabra. ]

That is more than reasonable request and something I'd be willing to do if you'd be willing to lend me your book.
no subject
Yessir! I'd ask for you to take good care of it, but I feel like that goes without saying at this point. This is the third book in the series, but the author always includes a brief introduction to the cast in the first chapter, so it shouldn't be difficult to get into the swing of things.

[ Once he starts talking Caleb Cleveland, it may be hard to get him to stop. Are you sure you want to go down this road! ]

A paperback copy of "A Tale of Two Cities."
And a first edition of "Jane Eyre" I found in the shops.
Like hell am I letting that one out of my sight.
no subject
Of course, I understand your want to be protective.
no subject
I'd lend out "A Tale of Two Cities."
I'd have to sit with you and "Jane," though.
no subject
That is if we can get our hands on a few more books to read...
no subject
I'd dig through the shops.
Most of the time, it's useless garbage but that's how I got my copy of "Jane Eyre."
The gods probably didn't even realize what it was they were giving.

Re: video;
Do you play an instrument?

I'm actually best at vocals but guitar's a close second and piano or violin probably third.
