This one's mine. It's called 'carbtien', and it's basically what we live on back home, because we can't grow enough food for everyone. It's military rations, and I don't know what they put in it, but it doesn't taste of anything and when you try to swallow it, it's like your brain forgets how swallowing works.

[Julie snorts softly and drops the cube down out of sight.]

I found a big bag of them just lying around a couple of weeks ago. Weird, right? I guess I'll keep it safe for if we ever end up starving or something. You might not thank me, though.

[A monster, of course. A really hot monster.]

Basically a vampire. Red eyes, pale skin, can't go out in the sun, tortures people and then drunks their blood. Created when someone gets murdered. Only difference is that they have a thick bone plate in their chests that make it that much harder to kill them.

[It'd be more obvious if he was on camera. A Sunai's eyes don't show up right on camera. They're pure black smudges instead where a human's would show up.]

Nah. I'm at the top of the food chain. Only thing that can kill me is another Sunai monster. That's what we're called. Sunai.

Heck if I know. [His species had already been named by the time Leo came about.] I think they just made it up to match with the other two monster names, Corsai and Malchai.

So... what are they, those other two?

Corsai are these shadow monsters with sharp teeth and claws. They can only survive in pure darkness but anyone who gets close to them gets ripped apart and eaten. Sunai, we eat the souls of sinners who have darkened their souls past the point of redemption.
