[A heavy sigh is the first thing that can be heard before Rey speaks: She doesn't normally like talking this much, but having seen a number of those who lack experience in toughing it in harsh conditions won't bode well for the inevitable move.]

"Think there're a few things that we should discuss among ourselves before our relocation. Regardless of where we end up, it won't be a vacation. You can kiss any ideas of a Caribbean getaway in a jungle, but the fact of the matter is that we're going to end up in both the ice planet and jungle eventually. People should know how to survive in both."

[Some might recognize it when she's channeling that firm tone, like a commanding officer. It isn't something Rey lets surface often.]

"Jungles provide a fuckload of threats we've never dealt with before, and that's native animals and insects that we have no clue how to handle. Shit that can spread disease if you don't know what to be on the lookout for. Water could be contaminated with parasites and predators. Plants could be poisonous or result in allergic reactions. There're hundreds of factors that could potentially snuff you or give you a world of hurt, and that's not including heatstroke.

"Below freezing conditions are also a bitch, but can be easier to combat than you'd think. Can provide some old Russian remedies at the Speakeasy to help cope with the climate -- we'll also need to tailor proper suits and clothing, too. Extreme cold is no fucking joke, obviously. We'll probably be fine in the city, but if anyone wants to go and check out those embassies then you want to be ready for that shit."

[Pause.]

"Lastly, it'd be better that we keep everyone up to date on how to fight the Null and what their weaknesses are, as well as being properly equipped to handle them. Rage's bows and arrows and swords are useless as a nun's tits against synthetics, so it'll be up to us to be prepared. Destroying bastards like those comes as second nature to something like me--" [Oops, sorry Rey's friends and fam, but old habits die hard when she gets into this mode.] "--so if anyone is looking for training and information on how to kick their asses, you can find me at the Speakeasy."

[Sorry, Lance. Rey's not a big fan of FaceTime or showing her face on the network all that often -- although it sure would help for people to seek her out at the Speakeasy if she bothered to put a name and face to her offer.]

Figuring out ways to take them out without getting up close and personal isn't a bad idea, though. Have fought and taken apart enough of them to have an idea on how they tick, but someone from the science lab might be able to help.

[She isn't about the volunteer any of them without asking, but Rey isn't opposed to hitting up her bff Alphys for some help. There are lots of Null parts there.]

Oh, no I meant that I didn't fight them up close. I definitely know how to destroy them from a distance.

[He got pretty good at that, and in fact has some new methods he thinks will work pretty well too.]

Having long-ranged options is good too, though. You know if we have some EMP devices arranged already? Because those might be our best bet -- just have to make sure that they're used carefully, so not to take out some of our own who'd be affected.

[Like her robot uncle and dadbot. Ugh, why did she have to start caring about synthetics?]

You know I studied psychology, not engineering, right?

[He says it lightly, not mockingly; he's totally joking, but he does mean it when he says--]

I know nothing about EMPs, or if we have any or not. Did they work well last time?

[Rey's mostly just thinking aloud for the most part, but she also means that.]

Can't say about last time. Was more busy taking them out the old fashioned way. That little robot people have taken to adopting might know for sure, but it made itself pretty clear that it wasn't interested in hurting its own kind. [No skin off Rey's nose, really. She'd rather not have to work with Name if she can avoid it.]

I'm going to just take it as a compliment that you think I could learn that kind of math in a place like this.

[He got a B in a math class once, Rey. It was horribly traumatic and a clear indication that he's terrible at math.]

I don't think the rogue Null would exactly have the resources to be building an EMP; that sounds more like something the Lab would be working on, if anyone.

Probably not, but it'd sure as hell be helpful if it could give us intel on the most efficient ways of dispatching their own. If we could create weapons powerful enough to snuff them for next time. [Too bad Rey is one of the ones who established negative rapport with the little robot and wanted to kill it on sight.]

I'm pretty sure it told us when we first talked to it than it wouldn't help us hurt other Null, so that plan's probably out.

[So it's probably going to be up the Lab.]

[Okay, she's just going to lock this down in case that Name thing is watching. Hopefully the gods have the network sealed tight so that the Null can't hack into their magical bullshit server anymore.]

But not entirely. So long as you ask the right questions without tipping off what you're asking them for, it might be possible to get info out of it.

That would involve knowing how to get in contact with it, and presuming a Null could be manipulated in such a way.

[Of course Lance does know how to contact Name, and manipulating people into telling him things is the entire point of one of his professions, but no need to go into any of that.]

You act as though Nick doesn't tell me everything.

[That includes the status of Name. While Rey would have been more inclined to destroy the damned thing before it could contact the rest of its kind, she trusts her dadbot to know what he's doing. If anything, she trusts him enough to handle the wayward Null better than she ever could.]

[Rey has figured by now that if the gods really wanted that thing dead, they'd have done it by now. Hell, she could have executed that sentiment herself if it weren't for those like Nick and Alphys that wanted to help Name.]
