So a new land awaits us. (She is trying to take the next move in stride, but this one will be harder for her.) I didn't know I would love the sea as much as I do. I think I've walked the beaches every day - except when a storm was upon us. I've become quite good at swimming too.

What use will any of that be in a jungle or on ice?

(However this is Hadriel's nature and it might be worse than all the monsters and other random beasts.)

If I leave behind remembrances for those who have journeyed home, will they remain in our absence? Or will this land crumble to nothing in our wake?

Is life right or fair the majority of the time? You have suffered needlessly too and I would wade through a thousand icy rivers to make that not so.

I need not do it and perhaps you think me silly for trying, but I would nonetheless. I did not protect my family as I should before; I am not that same girl anymore.

Silly? Valiant and gentle-hearted, I would say instead.

[He shakes his head] You grew with time. So do we all, Sansa, and our mistakes are a part of that.

You give me too much credit. (She looks at him pointedly, opening and closing her mouth a few times.)

I wish I hadn't hurt my family with my mistakes.

[Hmm? Is there something he should have noticed? ~~innocent I-do-not-know-what-you're-talking-about looks all around~~]

You were a child and taken advantage of by those with a responsibility toward you.

That is their sin; mine is not protecting my family. They gave me everything and I was a petulant brat. (She shrugs a shoulder.) I've learned and I hope my father knows I was never truly angry with him.

It is the father's task to protect his daughter, not the other way around. Especially one as young as you must have been.

[Which would be, what, thirteen? Twelve? Either way, it was absurd.]
