Thanks to Sorrow, I am here. It's good to see that you've managed to survive this long - I am afraid you will need to provide for yourselves a little longer. I simply don't have the energy to begin restoring your food supplies. Neither does Sorrow, who spent what he had to find me.

For now, all I can do is restore those of you who have died. I'll try to recover my strength as quickly as I can. Until then, take care of each other.

[Sorrow is in Hope's temple, where he's been keeping a not-so-subtle watchful eye over the younger god, silent as Hope begins to communicate to the network, but present nevertheless, the image bearing a striking resemblance to a knight or a guard waiting by the side of a lord. He'll leave him alone, probably... eventually, once things have settled.

For now though, he waits in relative silence while Hope reintroduces himself, types out his various responses, shifts and sighs with the unending questions of the people on the other end of the network. The sun has almost set on the first day back when he finally speaks.]

They're alright. I told you that Confusion would look after them.

[If you can count what she did as 'looking after', anyway.

His voice is quiet, though it contrasts with the otherwise-silence of the temple to be quite audible. Sorrow steps out of the shadows, his gaze flickering up to meet Hope's own. He's- not exactly meek, but also not exactly the prideful being that he usually is. There's a tension here, something reminiscent of all of their past arguments: Hope's safety versus the public, Hope's life measured against the life of hundreds of others, and the sacrifices of the latter that Sorrow has made every time Hope was in danger.

It hasn't been easy. But facing Hope's ire in particular is something that's surprisingly difficult to stomach, when morality and guilt clashes with necessity and Sorrow's black-and-white take on their situation. Very few things in this universe can compel Sorrow to hesitate- it just so happens that Hope and his damnable empathy is one of them.]

I made the right decision.
