I like to think they are together and happy. Even if the gods are deaf to our pleas, perhaps they have created a lavish afterlife for us regardless.

The White Walkers or Wights are the bodies of those that perished in the cold. I don't know if they remember who they were or if they know what they are, though the Night King seems to know what he is doing. He is their leader.

... we have cretures that may be similar, those who are killed by darkness. They seem mindless husks driven by their need to feed on other people's hearts but even they answer to their master.

If they are really anything alike, I wouldn't consider them sentient.

I assume your world is at war with this North King?

Sentient or not, there are thousands and thousands of them. The men of Winterfell cannot even hope to survive the night against those numbers.

(She grimaces and closes her eyes.)

We are in a similar situation back in my world, each fallen joining the enemy lines, but remember that as long as one man- or woman- stands there's always hope.
