[ Failing finding any kind of calendar at the shops— ]
so, the last thing i remember happening here is the "gods" giving us false memories of a false life. maybe a month after that.
how's this shit storm been brewing since? [ Because he has to admit, as much as he's started to loathe Love and Sorrow for playing with his emotions so damn much, he's also curious about the Null Situation™.
Ah, but also before he forgets; ] and anyone have a pick axe? tyki left a tea kettle in my wall.

As to what you need know: Delight served as the Null’s agent in Hadriel. A few months after the illusory town, she helped them attack the city. We survived long enough to flee to one of the gods’ former planets, and have been traveling between others ever since.
Voice
[ There's a pause after though, as he's taking the time to process that information. You know, it sucks to even think that Delight may have been one of the decent gods out of the eight of them, but clearly his radar was way off.
Kanda can't help the scoff that escapes before he's speaking again. ] Shit hit the fan, then. How long as it been since Hadriel's been moved, and how long have the Null left it be between attacks? [ He's sorry for all of the questions, but. The more information he can get his hands on, the better. ]
Voice
[The questions are fine. Fingon would be doing the same in his place.]
This planet is our fourth since the invasion, which was roughly a year and a half ago. Since then, most of our encounters have been with scouting patrols rather than the full army- until recently, that is. When we traveled to the planet before this one, the gods were scattered and the Null captured Tranquility.
[His voice shifts into a slightly grimmer tone at this news]
There was a prisoner exchange, of sorts. Delight for Tranquility.
She did not survive the transfer.
Voice
[ Kanda's making an indistinguishable noise at the news of it being the fourth planet. He's not quite sure how to process that just yet. ] So, four planets, five relocations in like, what? Four, five-ish years? Counting the time Fear fucked up and split the city, of course. [ Well, five relocations as far as Kanda knows of now, in any case. Who's to say how many - if any - there were before he arrived. Though Fingon can't see it, Kanda's chewing on the tip of his thumb as he takes in the time gap. A few months after that weird summer, the Null attacked again. They've relocated four times since he went home, he's guessing, with the last being a year and a half ago. ] So, it's been maybe two years, minimum, since I was last here. Dandy. [ But it at least puts things in perspective, kind of.
A hum at the news. He doesn't seem particularly too affected to hear of the loss. In fact: ] Perhaps she got what she deserved, then.
Voice
[Thinking for a moment]
A little less than two between the town and now, I think- though my years may be different than your own. [Who's he to be sure, at this point?] Four or five over all, though... that seems about right. I arrived just after the split, so you would be more sure of earlier events than I am.
[Fingon pauses at that, considering what to say.]
Perhaps. But who's to say? The line between who deserves death and who does not... it can be hard to discern.
Voice
Honestly who even knows, not like it particularly matters too much in the end anyway :D But, letting his curiosity getting the better than him is a good sign he'll take. ] Mm, there certainly wasn't anything like that while I was around. I know at least one person who would know better [ Chris ] but who knows if he's even still around. [ He'll have to check while he's walking through town.
A bit of another pause here, though this time it's much shorter as he lets out a breath. ] That's war.
Voice
[Fingon isn't jealous at all, of course.]
Good luck with your search. Hadriel is easier when there are familiar faces about.
[Well, Kanda's certainly not wrong on that point.]
And life.
Audio
I see someone else already covered explanations and I think they got everything down, we're currently preparing our last stand. I'm sorry you had to return right now when the situation is just so dark.
Audio
[ There's a disgruntled noise at the apology though, as Kanda's just scratching at his head. ] Nothing you or I or anyone can do about it now. Demanding Sorrow send me home didn't work last time, I don't imagine it would work this time, either.
[ Though he would absolutely love to punch the bastard in the face. ]

[She sighs.] It never worked so, no, there's nothing we can do beside getting ready for the last battle. Do you know how to fight, sir?
no subject
Those who came back are just the unlucky ones that couldn't get away from his pull. [ Even if it's technically Fear and Hope doing most of the dirty work, he still blames Sorrow for a lot of things. ]
I know how to fight. [ Doesn't mean he'll fight for the gods, though :D ]
no subject
That's... good. One less person to worry about. We may place all those who cannot fight in a safer area but.. more people can defend themselves the better.

Surviving is easy enough to do. Doing something about it is another thing entirely. [ Which makes him wonder, honestly, if anything can be done about it. ]
