[ Castiel is backlit by several lanterns, and is clearly at the bar. And has a glass of something in his hand. He's trying to look more confident than he feels, when he pasted on a big white smile for the camera.

A weird smile, but he doesn't do it very often. You're supposed to smile when you invite people to a party. ]

While the lights are out, you are all invited to congregate at the bar for uh...for drinks and games, and, um, so that you don't have to be alone.

[ Oh. Oh, no. This is... actually kind of sweet. It's reminiscent of early Haven, when people banded together against come what may. Maybe it had always been like that, really, but she'd lost sight of that near the end. Mm.

When she responds, she's got a winning smile of her own. ]

I think most people might have a hand up on me, but I'd be down for some fun and games. [ The proper expression is 'leg up,' but she isn't her without finding a way to crack a joke somehow. ] If newbies are allowed, anyway.

[ There's a touch of relief to his expression, as well, when he sees a smile echoed back at him. His eyes crinkle, minutely, and he gives an eager twitch of a nod at the final question. ]

Of course. Everyone is. I know that... I know that everyone would like to get to know you better, and perhaps this would be an easier venue than the arena. [ He shudders, visibly, a little sobered by the thought. This brave little angel still hides when the door opens. ] Please do come, you are most welcome.

[ 'No, they wouldn't.' is the first answer that crosses her mind but she refrains. Her smile stays painted on, giving no indication that she's anything but pleased about his word. ]

That's definitely a good point. [ The Colosseum had struck far too close to home for her. She was still reeling from it (and the events that had transpired just prior to her arrival here) so distractions were more than welcome. ]

Aw, shucks. How can I turn down an invitation like that? I'll be there or be square, looks like.

[ You should meet his friends, they'd all suggest exactly the same thing. In any case, Castiel can't tell smiles from fake smiles, and he tips his head appreciatively.

And then looks puzzled instead. ]

You'll be square?

Ah, it's... an expression. Being 'square' means being, like, uncool. Lame.

[ It isn't the first time she's had to explain and probably won't be the last. ]

I see. I don't really understand the concept of "cool" either. [ A pause. ] Is it the same as "hot"?

It's not exactly the same, no. They can go together, definitely, but!

Being "hot" is just being attractive. Being "cool" is when people think you're fun to be around for whatever reason. If a lot of people think you're "cool," then it's called being popular.

[ She hopes that... clears things up? Maybe a little? ]

So, um...

[ A pause, as he genuinely thinks about it. Thoughtful thoughtful. ]

What you're saying is that you believe that my party would be "cool" so it's important that you're there.

I'm grateful that you think so.

[ Oh, no, he's so much more adorable than originally anticipated. ]

That's exactly what I'm saying, yeah. And it's no problem. I could definitely use a party to get my mind off everything.
