[The video feed turns on, immediately following this announcement, and shows a blonde woman with light blue eyes. To say she looks strong or capable might be an understatement. She has the look of someone who's been a cop or in the military, or maybe a bit of both. She smiles a little into the camera, but the smile is thin, since there's grim business to discuss.
This is a new thing for her; visiting another world, and she's brand new here. The only benefit of such a visit would be getting away from zombies... haha.. hah..]
Hello. My name is Jill Valentine, and I'm one of the new ones here. [Introductions are generally a good way to start.] I'm also a new member of your city guard. Where I come from, I'm in an organization called the BSAA. [More like a founder.] The Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance. It's a world-wide organization that's trained to deal with... well, monsters. Zombies. Biological weapons.
It's my mission to protect people from things like that, and since there have been zombie sightings here recently, let me tell you what I know about them.
Now, I can't guarantee these monsters work exactly the way they do where I come from, but a few of these tips just might save your life.
[She reaches for her knife and lifts it.]
You'll want something to protect yourself. Back home, it's bullets, but I understand the armory is limited here. Luckily, zombies like these tend to be slow moving. In my world, they're created through a virus that shuts down all life systems of the body except for motor function and an unending hunger to consume flesh. If one of them bites you, it's just a matter of time before you become one of them. That's how the virus spreads. It can also spread through contaminated water, so make sure you're mindful of what you consume.
[She taps the flat of the knife against her palm and lifts it again.]
Stabbing one won't do any good. They don't feel anything. The only way to stop them is to go for the head. Once the brain has been damaged, the zombie is done for. You can also use fire. If you can't do either, go for the legs and get the hell away as fast as you can.
[As for other survival tips...]
Honestly, I'm a little worried. There's never just a few zombies. Typically, they move in groups. It can be easy to be outnumbered and overwhelmed. You can lock your doors, but enough of them can break down doors, bust through windows... there's even some viral species that can put up ladders. I would advise you to stick with a partner. Watch each other's backs. High ground is the best tactical position.
If you need help, just call on me or any of the city guard. I'm not saying you can't take care of yourself, but if you feel the need, don't hesitate, and we'll report to your location right away.
[She about wraps it up, but remembers one last thing.]
Oh, if you see one that's turning... red? Set it on fire immediately or get away from it. Once those are on their feet, they just might outrun you. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

Guess that hunger to consume flesh is why they're not particularly interested in us folks who aren't quite human.
[Or human at all, in his case.]
Re: [voice]
That's possible. If that's the case, you might be able to help a lot of people get through this.

['We' meaning the community at large. Some folks individually don't make it. Look what happened to Maketh and Henry during the fog, after all.]

Why not just set all of them on fire from the start? It'd be faster. We're not short on fire here, are we?

Are they going to retaliate if I do? They've seemed fine with me so far, for some reason. I mean, it's not going to stop me, but I'd like to know beforehand.

I have three questions. What are these creatures like in regards to sound? I am attempting to stay as quiet as possible but wish to know if their hearing goes beyond the norm of a human's.
Secondly, regarding the virus. How long does one have before they are turned into a zombie?
And finally, if one is bitten then is there a way to slow down the infection or is it merely a matter of minutes before they die?
Re: text
Their hearing isn't advanced, so staying quiet is a good way to remain hidden.
A person can turn anywhere from a day to a week.
The progress depends on the individual's immune system.
text
I will remain using text as communication then.
[It made sense, the clicking of the keys quieter than speaking.]
A child's immune system then, if there is a difference. Also you have stated that the virus is transfered through a bite but would being covered in blood or other such liquid from them provoke the change?
[Chara only fought close combat so it was pretty inevitable it happened.]

[That's good news, overall, except for the whole turning into zombies if you're bitten thing. That's not good and he's had enough of that particular hysteria for a lifetime.]
Re: [Video]
Standard as far as standard zombies go, I guess.
[She never would've thought zombies could be standard until they became a regular thing where she's from.]

[And he realizes he's starting to ramble a bit, and stops himself.]
Thanks for the info.

Re: voice.
There have been some cures developed over the years where I come from, but every time one is, certain parties have it and the records destroyed. Far as I know, there's no cures here, and our hospital doesn't have the means of creating antivirals with the tools they have.

Ms. Valentine. Simon Tam, I'm one of the clinic's doctors. Can I ask for any information you might have on the virus that made your zombies? It might not be the same, but any lead you have could help.
no subject
There aren't many leads on a vaccine. Some were developed, but most attempts were thwarted and the samples and data destroyed.
[She knows none of this information is likely helpful in their situation.]
If this place had a lab, maybe we could develop something, but I heard the tools here are primitive.

How did you deal with the infected? Before they turned. Was there any way to mitigate the infection? Say, by amputation of the infected area.

we can continue or hand-wave, up to you!
mind handwaving? I'd love more soon though!

Does infection still work out if you don't have skin?
[He's not particularly asking for himself - 1 HP is 1 HP, no matter how you slice it, and one bite is gonna dust him right away. But Papyrus - his bro's got a heart of gold, and compassion bigger than anything. He'll wanna help these things before he realizes some things are beyond help.]
Re: video
I don't think so. Never seen them attack someone without skin...
