[video - ask a gentern if zydrate is right for you.]
As backwards as this place is, at least you're not using coin. That kind of economy never made a lot of sense to me. You don't even really seem like you're bartering at all! That's more than a little strange.
[Or maybe he just thinks he deserves a lot, when he's this far away from his heart. Hmn. A possibility, to be sure.]
However, since that's the case, I really don't see what the point is in working for an organization like the clinic. Why would I want to go work for someone else when I've been doing just fine on my own for years? Where I'm from, I'm one of just two menders, and I've had plenty of practice.
[He never even completed his training, but shhh.]
Has anyone from your great clinic recreated half a brain before? I doubt it. I have. So feel free to stop by the better healer whenever you like. I'm usually around the library trying to find something that isn't garbage, if you've, I don't know, got your fingers chewed off, or something.

Well, I'm not going to complain. I need a break from talking with these people.
[He gestures to his phone, then leans across the table to pick up one of the blank books.]
You're really very different than a human skeleton. More like a child's drawing of one. Maybe not as scary. [ha] I wonder why the similarities that are there developed, or if it's just coincidence. You said you're a monster?
no subject
Mhm. I figure there's some pretty significant differences. Like, uh, how bone ain't really supposed to do this.
[He winks one eyesocket, then the other. The bone just kinda...folds down over the socket and pops back up again, as pliable as skin. But it sure don't look like skin]
We fall under the species of "monsters," so I'd say there's no actual relation between humans and us. Just speculation, though.
no subject
But you consider it bone? [He makes a quick note in the corner of the pages, then sweeps his pen in a sketchy arc.] Does it feel hard like bone, or is it more rubbery?
no subject
[He drums the tips of his phalanges against the side of his skull to indicate. Sure enough, it makes the hollow kind of rattling tap-tap-tap you'd expect from bone.]
Magic lets ya break pretty much any rule if it's dramatic or funny enough.
no subject
[He adds a few more lines, then glances up.]
Never heard someone put it that way before. You certainly take your magic very seriously.
no subject
[He chuckles, faintly disbelieving.]
Why would I go for the rule of drama when the lowest forms of humor are in easy reach, I ask you? I mean, look at me. Do I look like a guy who can reach all that high?
[Turns out being about four feet off the ground can be a real hindrance, who knew? 'Course, he don't need to be terribly tall to prove the points he needs to prove.]
no subject
You really are short. And round. Are you hollow under those clothes? Why are you even wearing clothes?
no subject
[He does an earnest job of being mock offended, eyeing Warrick with an amused grin.]
But, uh, nah. Just big-boned.
no subject
[WHY DID THE SKELETON HAVE SHAME
...SOMETHING SOMETHING BONER JOKE???]
Hoodie and shorts is an interesting combination.
no subject
[But then he shrugs, nonchalant.]
But hey, I'm not judging. Everybody needs a hobby, right?
[Sans just - stop. Stop talking. Please.]
no subject
[He's not completely unaffected by the accusation, though he's ignoring the blush as hard as he possibly can.]
I'm weirdly preoccupied by the things I think are weird, that's all.
no subject
'Fraid I can't clarify things any. I've always been a skeleton, and so's my brother. Didn't realize there were discrepancies with the human body 'til later.
no subject
That's true. Things from Earth seemed very weird to me even with all the reading I'd done.
[...wait]
You have a brother? How is a skeleton even born? Or...made? Can monsters be built? In a not-philosophical way.
no subject
[Yeah, he's not being any more helpful than that, Warrick, sorry. The answer, like it is to so many things about him, is probably - you guessed it! "Magic."]
But yeah. My brother's kinda the coolest. Like me, but the opposite.
no subject
Opposite in every way? Tall and thin. Very serious and uptight? [cool like edgy, or what...]
no subject
[He does his best to mimic Papyrus's signature laugh with minimal success.]
Seriously, cooler than an old lazybones like me.
no subject
[0k]
Sounds like Selva, aside from the laugh. Like I said, she's dramatic. I'd say she drives me up the wall way more than she does something cool, though. [...Hmn.] I do admire her. I always have.
no subject
[If she's anything like Papyrus, he's assuming he'd like her. He cracks one socket open a slit to watch Warrick lazily.]
no subject
My twin. She's pretty different from me, too. I think the only big thing we have in common is that we do really dumb stuff when we try to help. Get real stupid sometimes.
no subject
[He fills up about 90% of his time doing dumb stuff. Now the scale of it can vary, mind. He can do "sleeping on the job" dumb. He can do "trying to cautiously entice a metaspatiotemporal anomaly into doing the right thing" dumb. He's got a whole spectrum at his disposal! Ain't that nice.]
no subject
no subject
[He grins winningly. There is...no real way of discerning his age, honestly. Though there's definitely something resembling bags under his eyesockets. Somehow.]
no subject
[...He kind of wonders if that's something he could figure out with his magic. The body's age. Ozma could control the body's aging and keep Ozites from dying, but... Ozma was a lot stronger than him and he'd never finished his training. He didn't know his limits.]
You look healthy, anyway. A bit tired.
no subject
[Given the fact that he's got 1 HP and mostly just does a whole lotta sleepin' to make up for it. He's never been what one would consider "healthy," but he must do an awful good job of hidin' it.
Yeah, well, he would, huh? That's all he ever does.]
no subject
Healthier than most people with exposed bone, definitely. And you're up and aware, not limping or holding yourself oddly. Bones have no discoloration, breaks, or worn areas. I figure that's good, even if you're not a human skeleton.
