[The habit of staying in hiding runs deep, and Richie is uncomfortable with broadcasting his face or voice over the network. In general he doesn't like the idea of the network but now he's getting desperate. It's been nearly a month that he's been here and still no sign of his brother. He had been standing right next to Seth before this. It didn't make sense.]
Right before you came here, were you with anyone? Did any of them come with you?
Has anyone been here a while before someone you knew turned up? How long did that take?

[Bianca will never not be pissy about that, and it shows.]
Many of my friends have had compatriots arrive. It is a thing that happens. Who are you hoping for?
[permatext]
[She gave him the answers he needed, time to avoid her question in return.]

So hypothetically, someone could wander in that you haven't met yet?

I was with a group of six other than myself when I got here. It seems weird that with a group that large I was the only one who was pulled in.

[They actually managed to get a body too, which was something.]
Someone I knew was here before I came. Not long after that a few more have come.
Does that answer your questions?
no subject
Friends of yours?
[While the response answers his question, he's trying to compile as much information as he can. What was the correlation between people who arrived and those who came later with some kind of connection to them?]

A bunch of other people from home have arrived or left since then too; I've been here almost eleven months, and some of my friends just got here with the latest group of newbies so I guess that makes it ten months after I arrived.
[People from their world seem to come to Hadriel at an alarming rate, actually, and have consistently come and gone the entire time he's been here.]

[Though it seems like there's no direct pattern, this person's answers help Richie get a better understanding of how things work. It's not out of the realm of possibility to have a group arrive together, or see someone he knows later.]

permatext;
As other have said, the Door 'opens' every month, absurdly following what seems to be an Earth calendar in doing so. If the pattern holds, it should open tomorrow, indicating it's about October. Though it's largely random, it favors humans, and sometimes, the familiar. Perhaps because bringing in someone's companion will cause more chaos.

[What's not good is Richie's ability to say thank you.]
It didn't even occur to me that there would be other places like this, where you're trapped. Was the other place controlled by... things that call themselves gods?
[He hates to use the word "god," but for now Richie doesn't know how else to describe them.]

Sorry, I was locked in a guest room at the time and no one came with me. But I do know someone here from back home. He's been here a while though.
[a pause]
I'm sorry your missing someone. That's hard.
[permatext]
Wait, locked in a guest room? That's not how I came. Is that a place you can get back to.
[He doesn't want to address missing anybody, at least not for now, and doesn't acknowledge the latter comment.]

[The camera pulls back to reveal an extremely large raven sitting on Ushahin's right shoulder. He gives a throaty Grraaawww! by way of an introduction.]
I doubt that anyone else from my home shall show up here. They are all dead.
[Despite all his melodramatic tendencies, Ushahin isn't exaggerating. About 99% of everyone he knows were slain in the last battle he participated in before he came here.]
