[lloyd opens his mouth to say... something, honestly, he's not entirely sure because he stops himself short. he's been here before. having almost identical conversations with zelos and he knows pushing too much too fast never helps.

[Well. She doesn't expect that; people don't often back down from an argument with her. It catches her off guard, gives her a moment's pause.]

[most of the time lloyd is the absolute last person to back down from an argument. not because he's convinced he knows better than anyone but just because giving up simply isn't in his bones.

but this sort of thing is different. it took awhile for him to learn, but pushing too fast with this sort of thing almost never helped.]

Nick! [his smiles grows a bit bigger, like it's the best thing he's ever heard and not just a name.] It was nice talking to you, Nick, thank you for telling my about your world.

[Boy, this kid is Weird. Nick's brow furrows as she stares at the video screen, like maybe if she keeps looking, some kind of answer as to the question of what is his deal will flash across the bottom. But it doesn't.]

[lloyd waves exuberantly at nick and then moves to turn off the phone, only to prove that he's still having a bit of trouble with all of this technology because it genuinely takes him several minutes of turning the thing over and jabbing at buttons.]
