I still don't understand the appeal.

He resurrects the dead. He provides food and shelter and keeps the aggressive beasts in the tunnels. He has attempted only to help us. There may be an ulterior motive, given the utility of the feeling of hope to him, but because he's less than omniscient and has a less than effusive personality, you would do this?

Of all the gods to insult, you pick the one too benign to punish you for it. I suppose it's logical.

I'm sure the other gods could get you those things if you ask. Delight, maybe. She didn't seem very smart, but it would make you all happy, and she's probably not as much of a pain.

What a tremendous accomplishment.

Miss Delight has much less power. She could not handle a large instrument on her own. The other gods would doubtless be unwilling to take on the enormity of those tasks. Mr. Sorrow's orchard assists with the food supply, of course, but it is a supplement.

I do not imagine Mr. Hope would stop merely because of your irritating bees, but must you be so petty?

To me, it sounds like he's hogging the battery power Delight could be using. If we were all grateful to her instead of Hope, she would get stronger, wouldn't she? A beautiful, symbiotic relationship that isn't with that guy.
