I've set up a pawn shop next to the clinic.

Like everything else, it's on the barter system. Inventory will probably change depending on what I find and what sells. What I have should be easy to find, the shop will stay clean and organized. Rare stuff stays behind the counter with me.

If there's something you want that I don't have, ask. I might be able to get it. Just don't get too picky, this is still Hadriel.

No refunds, exchanges, IOUs, or layaway.

I don't think I can really afford to be picky, but I'm used to pistols, 9mm. [ It's what Christopher taught her to use, what's most comfortable in her hands. ]

What'd you use a gun back home for?

Protection. There were people after me, the kind of people you don't want to come after you. [ As a kid, she thought it was the police. As an adult, she knows better. ] My dad taught me how to use it, made sure I always knew where it was at.

I don't know who they all are, but I don't think so. [ It's a persistent fear, however. Any member of the Order could be disastrous for her, maybe even all of Hadriel depending on which member it was. ] I only know of Claudia, Christabella, and Leonard, but the Order of Valtiel is... They're like cockroaches, and there are so many.

[ It's a part of the reason she doesn't live in one place long, part of the reason her name says Heather Mason on the network and not Sharon da Silva. She tries to keep herself a mystery, to everyone. ]

[He doesn't expect that to do much for her sense of hiding, but it's something.]

Is there something that sets people of the Order apart? Some way they act or look?

Some wear ceremonial robes, complete with creepy bondage corsets, others wear old style miner uniforms sometimes. But, most of the time, they're just... people. When I saw them before I came here, they looked sickly, sort of haunted looking.

But that doesn't really help, does it? They'll recognize me before I recognize them.

[ and it's a terrifying prospect. ]
