For those who knew him, Sam’s gone. [ Granted, names aren’t really a top priority around here, so that might not be the best method of delivering this message. ]

Better known as Sasquatch? The Jolly Green Giant? L'Oreal superstar? Call him whatever you want, but he’s out. Figured i’d pass along the info just in case he offered to help anyone paint their ceilings.

[ Stupid jokes make Dean feel better, but that’s all he’s got to say on the matter, which is why he chucks his device onto the couch, still turned on, flashing the blur of a symbol on the ceiling for a moment. Except--

Just when it seems like the device is going to time out, it is righted again by the sudden appearance of Castiel in the video feed. He looks worried, apologetic, his eyes flitting off screen. ]

-- Dean, you were supposed to offer them our help, if they find themselves possessed, or pursued by these demons. [ Offscreen a grunt can be heard, noncommittal and unbothered.

Cas looks back at the screen. ] Dean is a professional demon hunter, and I have been fighting them all my life. We both know magic that seems to be effective on them, and we are willing to teach others how to fight back. For example, this is a devil's trap. [ The camera scrolls around to show more of the pattern on the ceiling from earlier. It's shaped like this. ] If you draw one on the ceiling or the floor, even if it is concealed, it should trap the demon--supposing you can trick them into entering it.

[ Since Dean is busy finding liquor off screen… ] And I think it would be good for Dean to keep busy, considering our recent loss.

[ Buuuut now Dean has returned, peering over Cas’ shoulder into the device- ] I can actually hear you, you know. [ After which he plucks it from his hands and finally turns off the feed. ]

[ooc; dean is black, cas is blue! expect tagbacks from both boys! ]

Don't be deceived by the simplification. Demons are dangerous. They can conceal themselves, possess people. They are clever, with silver tongues.

[ Castiel tilts his head minutely. He knows what he's looking at. ]

[The demon grins sharply.]

Flattery may or may not actually get you anywhere, but it is awfully nice to hear every once in a while.

There is almost nothing that a demon doesn't think of as flattery, in my experience.

If you're so confident, then you wouldn't mind demonstrating your power over this new body of yours. Allow me to perform an exorcism on you.

[He laughs loudly at that. Honestly, how dumb are the demons you're used to dealing with?]

Does that ever actually work, or are you just grasping wildly at straws?

It was worth the attempt, wasn't it? Do you truly believe that all your fellow demons are as wise and clever as you?

I know they're not. Which is a pity for them, I suppose.

[But he's not super concerned about it.]

I've no doubt many of them will fall victim to those little traps you've set out for them. I just won't be one of them.

Perhaps not. But you are a danger to the person whose body you have stolen. He will have friends.

[ Castiel is........trying to care for the victim. It's so hard. Mostly he just wants to stab the demon and be done with it. An eternity of "that's just how it's done" right here. ]

I have heard that you come in different "flavors". [ Direct quoting here. ] What kind are you?

[Mello has friends? The demon laughs.]

Actually, he doesn't. He's ... something of an unlikable asshole, come to think of it. He seemed to think that's what would make him better - to burn out everything that made him human. But all he really needed was a little help from yours truly. It's such a shame I didn't find him sooner.

[The bit about flavors causes the demon to arch an eyebrow in amusement, then bring a wrist up to his mouth and drag his tongue over the skin.]

I don't think I taste like anything at all.

[But there's a hint of an answer in what the demon has said in describing the body it has possessed - desire.]

[ Castiel stares, for a long moment, then shakes his head. ]

It's a shame that other people didn't find him sooner. Regretful.

The human body has a great variety of flavors to it. But I suppose that you're implying that you are a creature of desire. What now, then, that you have claimed this body?

Oh, I couldn't possibly spoil the surprise. Besides, if I fall for this silly trick of yours and tell you everything about my plans, aren't you just going to try to stop me?

If your plans are so well thought out, then the interference of one angel will mean nothing at all to you, I'm sure.
