Hiya, friends!

[As usual, Faith's tone is cheerful, and she looks as happy as she sounds. Never mind all that happened last month. What matters is they're all okay now! Mostly. Physically? Somehow!]

Got a question for you. Should help take our minds off the mess from last week!

[It's something productive to do with your feelings about it!]

Some of you've been here over a year now, I gather, an' you've learned lots about the gods and such, right? Been gettin' to know them a bit meself, but that's another story.

Point is, was wonderin' what you can tell me about the Door? Some of you've-- erm, played with it, let's say? An' I'd like not to do that by accident, what with the fire an' all. -- yeh, I'm the one who was on fire now an' then when Confusion came back. Don't want that happenin' in the wrong place, like one o' the temples, or the colosseum!

[Hint hint hint: where is the Door, she's going to be poking around the colosseum! Seems like a good place to start.]

Anyway! Let's chat! Here or in person, anything's fine with me. There's still so many of you I haven't met!

[She blows a kiss and waves, and the feed shuts off.]

(OOC: Feel free to do an action thread with her too! Faith can be found making her way to the colosseum, or in the colosseum proper, investigating, possibly throwing little fireballs at things. Please stop her from an accident with the fire.)

[She was the one on fire? That, uh, explains quite a bit. And also informs him that there are two people in the city with a gift for fire. Fantastic.]

Only thing I really know about is that the gods don't seem to have a handle on how it works.

Aah, then that makes all of us, yeh? Strange.

[She sounds almost amused despite the comically thoughtful look on her face.]

So they didn't come through it themselves?

Good question. They seem to have a better idea of how the place works than we do.

[But the gods ain't exactly forthcomin' with any of their knowledge regarding anything, much less the Door or why they all got felled in the first place.]

Well that makes sense, at least. Got to understand a place in order to run it.

[Some use that understanding for evil. Like Rosenberg.

Faith hopes the gods aren't like her, but this Door business isn't exactly putting them in a good light.]

I wonder if they're as much victims as we are, just better adapted to this place.

[It doesn't seem likely, but that doesn't mean she can't wonder.]

You'd have to ask 'em.

[Frankly, he wouldn't be surprised.]

They're kinda reticent about what really went down. Suppose they don't want us all gettin' ideas.

[Not too bad a plan, frankly. He knows there's plenty of people who'd be ready and willing to take a fight to the gods' doors, just 'cause they could. He's pretty sure he's still got Gren's little scrap on video. He really should think of mass-sending copies to everyone.]

Will do! [It's a hell of a conversation starter, that's for sure.]

Imagine not. They need us to get stronger. Wouldn't be good to spill all their secrets to us.

[Faith is one of those people who'd fight them if she felt she had to. Granted, she'd wait until all other options were exhausted before doing that, but she'd still do it. Wouldn't be the first time she's fought someone stronger than her.]

Wonder if they'd let us help them if we could. They're not bad sorts. Wouldn't want 'em to die all over again.

[Death doesn't seem like fun.]

Maybe. Not sure if they're the sorts to risk trust.

[Trust is, after all, a pretty significant risk, especially since it'd require the surrendering of potentially sensitive information. And they're all just - what, mortals and pawns to them? What would they do to earn that kinda trust?

Nah, the gods seem pretty content to leave them to be their living, emotional batteries.]

Worth trying, right? Offering. I know I only just got here a few months ago, so it's not as if I've proven meself or anything, but it's a gesture of goodwill, yeh?

[Talking her down from what's probably gonna be a hopeless endeavor will require more effort than he's got in him at the moment, or at any given moment at all.]

[He's got no doubt that she will, even if no one prompts her. She seems like a pretty social sort.]

Will do! [She says this all seriously, with a salute, until she can't hold back a laugh anymore. With that, she signs off.]

I'm sure you know what you're doing with your fireballs and all, but I really hope you're not going to go set the Door on fire to see what it does. Provoking it seems unwise.

[ she likes you, new friend, but your enthusiasm is a concern. ]

Oh no no no no! [Faith laughs.] I don't want to attack the thing that brought us here -- imagine, what if I melted it to bits? Then we'd really be in trouble!

[She's not as airheaded as she acts. >:| It's just, why be calm and logical when you can be bright and bubbly and make people laugh?]

[ that gets a little chuckle from ahsoka. ]

Taking something apart is the easiest way to figure out how it works, but yeah, maybe not by melting it down. I was just checking.

Sounds like you've got a little experience in tinkering?

[Faith waggles her eyebrows. Wanna help, friend?]

Usually just machines and ships, but I have to say that I haven't looked too closely at trying to take the door apart yet. Should I meet you over there?

That's a skill set I haven't got. [Therefore, it could be helpful!] Yeh, do! Could use the company.

Maybe a different perspective can help, then. I'll see you shortly.

[ and true to her word, ahsoka shows up to the colosseum before too long, greeting faith with a wave when she approaches. she doesn't have much of anything in the way of tools here, but she hadn't put much thought into the door before. keeping everyone safe from one monster infestation after another has always seemed like a priority. ]

Heya!

[The colosseum is vast and empty on this day of no arrivals, cleaned out last month by Hope's power. As such, it seems almost as harmless as any other of the restored buildings here, but Faith remembers otherwise. Remembers the monsters that it spits out and the people who wake up disoriented on the ground. If this is the point where things come in, then it's the most likely place for the Door to be, right?

That's Faith's theory. It's a place to start.]

Pretty sure it was around here that I woke up. [She gestures with her foot to the area right in front of her.] I remember being about this far from that wall over there, 'cos that's where Kate and I left through. Don't see any cracks or hinges, though.

[ coming to stand beside faith, ahsoka stops, folding her arms across her stomach in what is clearly a relaxed thinking pose for her. ]

The location does make sense, but we know that it's technology that bends time and space. It may only need something to get people here, not to receive them on the ground.

Y'think it's tech? [Faith makes a face.] That's not me area. I was hopin' it'd be magic or something. Though I guess... if it's tech, it's something anyone can mess with.

[Which is both good and bad.]

Y'think it's big? Must be big, to do all it does.

It could be. But if it were powerful, it wouldn't necessarily have to be big. We don't have anything in my home galaxy that does some of the things the Door does, so I don't know. [ she gives a shrug, tracing a line over the ground with her boot, as if that'll give her some idea. ]

But if it's magic... can you sense anything out of the ordinary about this place?

[Faith will take your word on that. Machines are not her thing at all, but she can see how that makes sense.]

Mm, no, can't sense things. I mean, no more than anyone else, prob'ly. Gives me goosebumps bein' here, though.

[She's a helper...]

You? Anything... Force-y?

Nope. I can't hear anything mechanical, either, so if there is some sort of mechanism around here, it isn't very loud.

[ those fancy horn-like things of hers aren't just for show - she probably would hear something if there was anything to hear. but nope. of course not.

You should talk to Sorrow if you want to know about the Door, Faith. [ He's the one who has all the answers, the asshole. ]

[Not that she thinks the gods can't listen in anyway, but just in case Sharon would rather not talk where the others can hear, Faith switches to private.]

Had dealings with him already?

We've spoken on a few occasions, none of them ended pleasantly, but he's the one who knows how to work the Door. He won't tell Hope, though, wants to keep us around for whatever bad shit is to come. [ At least, that's the conclusion she's drawn. ] He's an asshole.

Interesting. Makes sense he'd want to keep us 'round. We're their food source. Hmm. Definitely going to talk to him meself. Maybe I can get a little more from him.

He seems pretty intent on keeping that information to himself, but maybe he'll warm up to you. [ She's not going to ask her to share anything she gets from Sorrow with her, at least not on the network. ]

Hope so, bein' a phoenix and all. [Sorry, Sharon. Too easy.] I'll give it a go, though. Worth a try.

[ She snorts. ] Good luck with that.
