I hope everyone is done being a bummer because I need everyone to get it together for an important message.

[ she takes a breath, as though this might actually be an important topic that she needs to discuss with everyone. ]

Should I cut my hair? [ it's hanging loose down her back, and she flips it forward over her shoulders. ] It's gorgeous, I know, but I look just as good with short hair.

[ she smiles. there's a spark in her eye that says she hopes you think her question is stupid and want to fight her on it. ]

Also, I'm looking for a housemate or two. Please submit a 500-word essay or 3 minute video describing why I should pick you.

[ Cashmere grins back at Natasha. Connor had nice things to say about her, too. ]

I've never really had short hair. So maybe I'd just take a baby step. [ she loosely pulls back her hair to give the illusion of a long bob. ] If I were to cut it all off, people would just think I'd lost my mind.

I don't know about that. Just hair. It grows back.

[But Natasha has changed her hair regularly. It was one of the quickest, easiest things you could do to change your look. That was a benefit in her line of work.]

But that would be a good length on you. You can keep it long enough to pull back out of your face that way.

Hmmm. I guess I'll sleep on it. Don't want to do anything rash. [ really, it might be kind of cute. Cashmere lets her hair drop down again. ]

It used to not always be my decision. And now I'm used to the long hair.

It'll still be there tomorrow if you decide it is what you want. No need to rush.

[Natasha takes note of her comment about it not being her decision, but she doesn't pursue it directly.]

Do you have someone to cut it for you? Might be easier with a second part of hands.

[ she shakes her head. ] I told Connor that I'm not sure I trust anyone with a sharp object near my head.

I'm particular about my hair.

Sounds like at least one trust issue there. [Natasha doesn't judge that, and she doesn't ask it as a question.] I can't blame you for that though. It's your hair.

You're not wrong. [ she's better about that - trust - than she used to be, but there's some deep rooted old habits she'll never be able to shake. ]

I already have a bald spot. Hope's not always so good at putting people back the way they're supposed to be.

[Natasha could hold back the dry snort of laughter her comment stirs in her, but she doesn't. Not quite. It's subtle, but a sign she's in on the joke.

No, it isn't. But sometimes, that's what you have.

[She lifts a shoulder.]

So you're going to cut it yourself.

[ she likes you, Natasha. and she can see why Connor does, too. ]

Well, let's say that I am my own first choice for the job should such a decision occur.

[Not that Natasha's exactly invested, but she's devoted this much time to it... and it's an excuse for a second contact, if another one doesn't come up.]

How's the search for a roommate going?

Off to a good start - I've already found one person. There's still a few empty rooms, but I guess there's no rush.

It'll just be nice to have someone else around.

One is a good start. And it's not like we're splitting bills around here. If you wait a while to get another...

Jack. Do you know him? He's friends with Connor, too.

If it's the same Jack, we've met. He seems like an interesting guy.

You could do worse for a roommate.

I think he's the only one. Plus he has a pet, which is always a plus. [ her roommate standards are clearly very high. ]

Does he? What kinds of pets to people have here? Doesn't seem like the kind of place that has a humane society.
