audio & action cw: mention of suicide
[ Action / Audio]
[ It's been a rough few weeks and Will knows that the oncoming weeks ahead are probably going to be just as bad for him. He has a lot of explaining to do and a few apologies to make, which isn't the easiest thing to deal with. His double caused a significant amount of damage both to others as well as to himself.
He's not in the best mindset as he sits out in the cold, just a few hundred yards from the colosseum. The thought of entering it and letting whatever beasts have been brought through the door maim him or worse. With bruises from head to toe and a few fractures scattered around his bones here and there, falling from the window of his fourth story spire had left him a little worse for wear, as had the final fight with his double.
Beside him were a few bottles of water, a small handful of chocolate bars and what was left of one of his bottles of aspirin, Will had originally intended to offer some help to anyone leaving the arena in poor shape, only his mood had gotten the better of him. He knew it was dangerous for him to be out in public right now, what with several people cursing his name and after his blood, but Will wasn't thinking straight (when was he ever?) Stricken with grief after watching someone special to him, take their own life in order to save his, Will was in a state of both physical and mental pain. Still, he would sit and wait, see if anyone needed his help, or if he could even muster the effort to help when the time came. ]
I have a few supplies... If anyone might need them?
[ Stroking his dog, Winston who acted as a guard around his deflated master. ]
[ Private audio to Tyki ]
[ Will was an intelligent man, it didn't take him long after picking out a few words that he recognized in Portuguese to work out roughly what the rest of the message meant. The part he was truly struggling with, was deciding if it was a prank or not?
After some pondering, deciding he really had nothing to lose, Will picked up his device, switched the settings to private and contacted the number left on the flyer. ]

Re: action SORRY THAT I ONLY JUST REALIZED I'VE BEEN WRITING IN THE WRONG TENSE fail!self
[Rosen paused a moment before mumbling "and tentacles, which I would have thought biologically impossible" under his breath and took another long sip of water.
At least it seemed like he was coming back to himself a bit. Whatever small blessing that was.]
Did you..um... [He hesitated. Coming back to himself also meant regaining his unease around strangers. Its not necessarily that he was shy, though he tended to be soft spoken, it was more that he never quite knew what footing he was on with people he'd never met before. Particularly those who were not his patients.]
...would you mind if I ask what happened when you arrived? Of course if you'd rather not discuss it, I understand.
^u^ It's okay! I do it all the time too!
[ Will's voice sounded deflated, he wasn't doing too well these days. Watching Rosen mumble a comment and sipping his water for a moment, scanning the other man quickly trying to get a good read of him, of his personality, so it looked as if he didn't really care for being social too? He seemed okay, though, was probably going to struggle in this place too. ]
What happened to me? ...
[ Will sighed, his eyes went wide for a moment and he inhaled deeply and slowly. ]
Well, I remember fire and heat... Screaming, then the shadows overhead. I'd arrived with my dog, Winston. I didn't know he was here until I saw him in a street. That's when the Dragons came...
[ That's right, he did just say dragons. Fire breathing, death bringing dragons. ]
I ... I don't recall it all that well, I just know a lot of people helped me get through it.
:D !
Dragons. The only thing he could make of that at this moment was that dragons would have been far more destructive than sharks. Where these beasts had been limited to the use of their teeth and tentacles, dragons had fire at their disposal. And Rosen had witnessed first hand the horror of death by fire.
His jaw locked a bit as he tried to keep those thoughts at bay, and in his desperation to do so he turned his attention back to Will.
Quietly Rosen tried asking again]
Are you injured?
[Lee hoped the small cant of his head to one side when paired with the soft tone of his voice implied his offer to help.]
no subject
Yea... I'd say its pretty obvious I'm not at full form, huh?
[ He sounded more sarcastic than he meant to, it was just the way Will was. He didn't mean any disrespect by it. Holding out his arms before rolling up his sleeves. There were deep lacerations, bruises, and marks all over him. Falling out of a window will do that to you. ]
You don't have to do anything to help me, though.
[ He needs help, he's just too modest. Plus the Doctor had only just arrived, it wasn't entirely fair. ]
no subject
But with one look at Will's arms Rosen's initial suspicions were confirmed.]
You are not exaggerating
[Without hesitation Rosen fell back into his physician's habits. He set down the bottle he had been holding then moved to kneel next to Will, holding out a hand near Will's arm but not taking it without permission]
May I see, please?
[It looked bad. And the injuries were near several major nerve endings and arterial routes. He needed to be able to evaluate the extent of the damage.]

Nodding, allowing Rosen to take his arm and have a look at it. He wasn't fond of physical contact but in this case, it was alright. ]
I have some other wounds but... These ones keep reopening, bleeding out. It's frustrating.
[ The other man seemed nice enough, Will got a slight read of him when they were talking. He seemed honest like he wanted to help others and do what he can, Will admired that. Maybe he should try and curb his tone a little, cut this newcomer a break. ]
Thank you... I'm reluctant to go to the clinic when there are others who might need help more, so really... Thank you.

[Rosen's voice was soft and distant he gingerly took hold of Will's arm, gently moving it forward, then back, before lightly pressing two fingertips at various points along the ulnar and median nerves.]
How long have they been like this? [He touched just below the wrist] Can you feel this?
[He wanted first to establish if there was possible nerve or arterial damage. Once he could establish that then he could have a plan of action for cleaning and dressing the wounds.]
So then you've not had anyone look at these?
[Lee did not miss Will's concerning explanation as to why he hadn't gone to the clinic, it set up a red flag as to the man's own sense of self-worth, but this was hardly the time nor place for that just now.]

[ Will looked sheepish. He'd been struggling with a loss of time for a while now. It was the festering encephalitis he'd arrived her with months ago. The magical healing he'd been getting from a friend he made here, had kept most of the infection from taking full bloom, but Will still had a fever and other horrendous symptoms, such as blacking out and losing mass amounts of time... But that's not what the Doctor is asking about, so Will keeps that to himself. ]
Not these ones, no. I had some older ones... Broken fingers, ribs... Cracked skull... I think they're all healed now? And no, I can't feel that very well.
[ The wounds Lee was poking at, were on the arm Will had already broken 2 fingers on, maybe he'd disturbed the old break in the process of his fight? ]

It would be better if we could get scans of your injuries to be absolutely certain. Though I realize thats not a possibility at the moment. [He murmured, examining the course of the veins from hand to elbow] There appears to be some nerve damage and such deep cuts, when left this way, can often lead to bad infection. Particularly if they keep reopening.
[He sat back on his heels and proceeded to examine the hand, enumerating in his mind all the things to be concerned about. This man appeared as if he'd survived a train wreck.]
You don't have to tell me what happened, Mr. .... [He faltered, realizing he still did not know the man's name] ...but it might help me to understand your injuries better.
no subject
[ Offering his name when prompted, wiggling his fingers as best he could and pulling a face at the mild discomfort he could feel from Lee's prodding and poking. The man seemed nice enough, professional too. Will knew the best way to get help, would be to be completely honest with the doctor, let him know where the wounds came from and how he was constantly in pain from them. ]
I had a fight...
[ Pulling up his shirt to the side, exposing his stomach and ribs. There were patches of his skin that were black, blue and purple with bruises, a few lacerations like the ones on his arms, as well as a few shallow stab wounds that were finding it hard to knit together. ]
... We fell four stories out of a window in the Spires... They broke my fall in the end but, as you can see, they got me a few times before that too.
[ He paused, not sure if he should finish his sentence, yet before he knew what he was saying, the words were spilling from his lips. ]
I thought about entering the colosseum... Put up a fight with whatever monsters and madmen they brought in this time... See if one of them couldn't finish me off instead.
[ He was tired. Tired of hurting and getting hurt, he just wanted it all to end, one way or another but the fact that he'd done nothing about it, spoke volumes of his actually resolve and will to live. ]

As such Lee took a moment to gather his wits. He slowly eased himself off his heels, shifting so that he sat fully on the ground. Bit by bit his professional pokerface gave way to a soft pensive expression.]
Well, Mr. Graham, that is a very serious action you were considering [His voice was quiet and gentle but there was also a sternness, one that gave deference to the severity of the situation.] And I am glad that you chose not to take it.
[He gently placed a fingertip near to one of the cuts, but was careful not to make contact with the irritated skin] These I can clean and dress properly, and if you'd be willing I would like to keep an eye on them for the next few weeks
[Lee then paused, eyes watching Will's face for signs of resistance. He didn't want to push. Only to make himself available as a lifeline]
As for what you have told me, I have experience with these kinds of....[A moment to find the right word] .....these kinds of hurts. I would be more than happy to help you in whatever way you felt most beneficial. But of course only if you felt comfortable with that.
no subject
Letting Lee touch and feel the wounds was fine, he could poke and prod where he wanted, Will was done twitching and wincing. When all you could feel was the pain, you start to get used to it. Maybe if Lee had tickled or stroked him? Maybe a pleasant feeling like that might have gained a reaction from Will instead? ]
It's okay. I'm not going to take my own life... I've seen it done here already... The effects aren't permanent, just painful... I thought maybe it would heal me, though? Kind of like a reset button?
[ Will realized that to a newcomer as well as one that was a Doctor, he must have sounded crazy. He was telling the truth, though. ]
Er... Thanks, yea, I'd appreciate that if it isn't too much trouble. But I think I'll pass on the rest. Therapy doesn't work on me, Doctor.
[ More like he doesn't let it. ]

[Nor was Rosen entirely convinced of his own fitness for the task in that particular moment. It was perhaps best for the both of them this way. Live and let live, so to speak.]
And please, call me Lee.
[He then returned his focus to the task at hand. Now that they had established a plan of action, he knew the next step to take. Reaching for the water bottle he removed the cap and then gently took hold of Will's wrist once more]
This may sting.
[Rosen then proceeded to trickle water over the deepest of the cuts, eyes on the look out for anything he might have missed.]
