[Maybe you know Kamina, maybe you don't. Either way, his voice probably sounds unfamiliar. For one, he isn't even half as animated as he usually is, and his voice is considerably closer to normal volume. There's still plenty of determination there, though, and confidence in spades.]

Hey, listen up! Kamina here. I know some of you didn't get buried with the rest of us. It's up to you to get digging! We're all part of the same team here, and we're counting on you!

Listen, I know cave-ins. I grew up in a pit like this one. Everyone else who's stuck, don't worry! Help is on the way. They're gonna find us! And if you can't believe in that, believe in me! We've got at least a day or two of air in these things. Just save your breath, don't panic, and we're gonna get outta here just fine!

And then, we can give those so-called gods a good ass-kicking like they need!

You're buried?!

[Not that she isn't already motivated to dig people out, but now it's personal.]

I'm going to try and find you. Don't worry.

[His voice sounds a little distracted, and there's some dull scraping and thunks in the background. He's still trying to break through the coffin. Pretty hard when he's only got like six inches of clearance.]

Don't worry about me, I'm fine! Just get digging, okay? We've got a lot of people to save, Z.

[Okay, do a little of that might be bravado. Here he is, buried underground, and trying to reassure her. But hey, that's just how he is. It's that or scream.]

I'm just going through Hope's list, so you've got as good a chance as any of me finding you first.

[Small comforts help, right?

Oh hey, here's an idea.]

How about you do a battle cry? Maybe I can hear you through the ground and find you faster.

[There's a bit of a smile in her voice, even if it's a pretty bad attempt at humor.]

[She's got the right idea. Every little bit helps, definitely. And truth be told, he's not sure how long he's gonna be able to go before this starts to be a little too much--even for him. But no thinking about that now, right? Instead, he laughs. Short, a little strained, but still a laugh.]

Hey, yeah, you're right. Lungs like mine you guys should hear me all the way back to the caves.

The odds are in our favor though, right? Half of us buried, half of us digging. If everyone pitches in, we should all be out in a few hours!

Is it really that much time?

[Chris can't remember exactly how many hours of air someone buried alive gets, but a day or two seems long. He certainly won't be complaining if not, though.]

You should probably try to save air, though. [As much as she wants him to keep talking. If he's talking, he's alive.]

Yeah, they are. I'm-- I've got help with me. We'll get people out quick.

Yeah. I just wanted to let everyone know, we shouldn't let Fear win this one. We'll bust out of these boxes and then we'll bust outta this cave!

You hang in there, too, okay? I'll see ya soon. I know it.

[He sounds like a man who is absolutely convinced that what he's saying is the truth. And that's because he really believes it is.]

[If his reading sucks, his typing sucks more AND he can't really see the keyboard right... Hope you like your texts full of autocorrect and gibberish, dude.]

[Chris is used to deciphering all the bad typing the internet has to offer, so it only takes a few seconds to figure out what that's supposed to say. Hopefully he's read it right, anyway.]

[Okay he's gonna have to give up on this. Too many words he's not quite getting. Sorry, dude.]

It's gotta be at least a day, especially if Fear put us down here, right? The asshole wouldn't just let us die in four hours.

[Kamina no. Chris considers just not responding entirely, but his conscience won't allow it though he's not about to use voice either.]

Either way talking wastes oxygen.

[The tone of his voice is reassuring, which is just what Z needs as she rests her muscles before heading out to dig again. If Kamina can keep his spirits up, then so can she.]

[The phone beeps with another text, and it's only by accident that Kamina manages to trigger the text-to-speech function. Yes, solution to that problem. We'll focus on the little things, and not the bigger issues of suffocation or starvation, shall we?]

Some people, talking helps. Uses less oxygen than screaming and panic, at least.

Excellent speech, Kamina, way to keep everyone's spirits up!

[Amos is very serious and is quite glad they've got a leaderly-type like Kamina, who is keeping his head and rallying spirits. The part about the gods, well...]

Fear's the one to blame, I'm sure: Hope and Rage will probably try to help us, as far as the gods go.

[He can't really argue, though he thinks the tradeoff probably isn't that great. Hopefully it just won't be a problem though, and everyone will be found before it becomes an issue at all.

Yeah, I guess the good bet's on Fear trying to scare everyone again. This is a sorry attempt though, if you ask me! Totally not original at all! I mean, aren't we already underground?! As soon as I dig my way outta here, I'm gonna come for you too, so don't worry!

[The guy seems bothered, even if he's not really freaking over it. It's not in Kamina's nature to just ignore him, even if it does take up time and oxygen.]

Both. One of my friends is buried too; the other two aren't.

I grew up in caves like this. There's no such thing as solid-packed dirt. Like Simon always said, there's always a weak point somewhere.

I have a knife, but it's a small one. I'm not sure it'd do me much good....and I'm not very experienced with digging or mining or whatever.

I'm not a digger either. That's my bro, Simon! But if there's anything I've learned from watching him it's you gotta start somewhere, even if you think it won't get you anywhere!

Just don't start cutting over your head. Bad idea. Trust me.
