[Some might recognize the cat - the stray cat that seemed to hate Anakin before - behind said Sith. So what if the fuzzy creature is batting a ball between his paws and being downright charming? So what?]

My talents are going to waste. I'm accepting students, but if you don't show any talent with the Force, I will drop you.

[He wants his own army because why the hell not?]

Ben, you're my first student. [No matter what a certain once-Padawan says! ~~Yes, he is that childish.~~] Don't be late tonight.

Perhaps we should try a small experiment. I'll release a small but steady flow of power. You do the same, and we can try to find one another in town.

Deal. [He sits down and readies himself to meditate, eyes closing.] Begin when you are ready.

Very well.

[She flips her phone off and begins releasing just a bit of magic as she walks. With that small, steady flow, there's a bit of magic aura, as dainty and pink as the woman projecting it. It looks like pink flower petals made of light, falling slowly around her. At the moment, there's just a few raining down before they disappear.

The magic particles that exist in her world, Ethernano, are like how the Force has been described to her - inside of every living thing, with only a select few being able to utilize it. So it's not completely a surprise to her when she senses something during this little exercise. It's not exactly like the magic of her world, but it's similar enough that she's intrigued and wants to learn more.]

[Her magic stands out, bright and feminine, amongst Hadriel's other magic. Anakin rises from his seat, opens his eyes and sends out a steady pulse of bright - almost blinding - Force light. However just as it reaches its peak of brilliancy, it suddenly darkens into shadow. The light and dark swirl together chaotically, fighting for dominance.

And the light is losing.

His stride is purposeful, calm as he approaches her, his hood drawn over his features. At his height - and the fact that he only showed her a snippet of his power - he is probably a little daunting.]

Found you.

[To say that Ikaruga doesn't frighten easily is a gross understatement. Prior to coming to Hadriel, she found out the island she was on was going to be destroyed by a weapon that could blow up countries within the half hour, and continued on with the job she was contracted to do rather than flee.

When he approaches, she simply smiles. He's tall and she has to look up to look him in the eyes. But then, she's accustomed to that. One of her closest comrades is nearly seven feet tall.]

So you did, and I sensed your arrival. It would seem magic and the Force are very similar.

[She halts the energy flow so that the pink petals vanish entirely. There's little point to wasting energy now that this experiment is over.]

[Her manner is impressive and probably for the best. Siths feed off of fear and they delight in encouraging it. If she keeps her weaknesses to herself, they will get along easier. Or, at least, she will be safer from him becoming too interested.]

I'm not surprised. The best power must all come from the same source. [He grins at the petals.] It must be hard to mask your signature.

[She chuckles a bit at his assessment.]

It is...distinctive, but I've learned. I am far too adept at detecting such things myself to not become skilled concealing my own presence.

[And with a moment's concentration, the energy is capped off. The petals are gone entirely. If he really tries to sense it, they're in close enough proximity that he still can, but now that she's not deliberately releasing a small pulse of energy, it's very subtle.

She looks thoughtful for a moment.]

If the power source is the same, I suppose it becomes a matter of people from different universes originally harnessing it in different ways, and then entire disciplines developing in those individual universes.

You had no choice but to learn to conceal. [He is not so different. His power is so great that if he doesn't mask it - or shield it, rather - he would give his presence away to just about any sensitive Jedi or Sith.] I think you do a fair job of it.

[No small praise from him.]

We can bridge the gap. We can harness the power as one. [They only need practice and work alongside one another.] Are you willing?

[She motions to her hair.]

Magic sometimes causes physical mutations in people. Unusual pigmentation in the hair and eyes being the most common type. But concealing my presence is still useful for dangerous situations.

[She's not sure if she's ever met someone who had hair that was pink, purple, blue, green or otherwise some odd colour that wasn't a magic user, in fact. Although there are still plenty of mages with entirely normal colouring for humans.]

I am always up for a challenge. Although...I'm curious as to just how strong a person can be using the Force. Would you be willing to let me see your full power for a few seconds?

[Well that does explain the hair.]

What is your natural coloring? Depending on which side of the Force you tap into, it too can change your appearance. The Sith, for example, often have yellow eyes.

[He has never had eyes that color. What are you talking about? Not that she will completely understand that Sith = something very bad. That's perhaps the reason he tells her.]

Full power? [Anakin chuckles.] Shall I lift a building for you? Or show you how best to use a lightsaber?

I was exposed to magic in utero. My mother is a mage as well. But my hair was lighter and much less obviously pink as an infant, and my eyes appeared more blue. I think with no exposure to magic, I would have had light blonde hair and blue eyes like my father.

[The mention of 'side' of the Force piques her interest.]

What do you mean by side? Specific disciplines, or is the Force actually divided somehow? In my world, magic is magic.

[A building? She almost wants to see that.]

Much as I'd like to see you do that, I'm a bit more curious if a lightsaber looks the way I'd expect it to.
