I saw some pitiful fighting out there. We should fix that while we have a chance. You don't necessarily have to be Force-attuned to improve, either. Just give it a shot and if you're frustrated, that's fine. Use that energy to fight me; it will make you stronger.

Did people really die over this competition for these supposed gods? You can teach someone to fight but you can't train someone to use good judgment if they are idiots.

Maybe. It wouldn't surprise me if they did. [Stupidity kills.] But you can survive if you have the right skills - poor judgement aside.

It wouldn't surprise me either but I haven't been paying attention to the contest.

I'm sure you'll have some volunteers considering what this place is like.

I'm glad I'm not alone. Are you experienced with battle? I've been thinking we need to elect teachers or leaders otherwise we'll be in the same position with every new batch of arrivals.

The Force is the energy that surrounds everyone and everything. Some can tap into it.

i am very experienced! maybe getting some formal groups together isn't the worst idea. get people on a schedule and stuff and get them working out! show those monsters and gods who's really in charge around here

I work out every single day - mostly in the mornings and again in the evenings. I can set schedules for everyone and make sure they stay on top of them. [He has way too much energy and some to spare!]

i mean we can't rely on these "gods" running the place cuz they can't even figure out how to get us out or how to stop new people from coming in. they're preoccupied with doing stuff like throwing contests and building hot springs instead of exits?? whatever, we can't rely on them for help so we need to help ourselves!!

I've spoken to Tranquility and he's not willing to do anything to help us strengthen our defenses. I doubt the others are any better. They seem too caught up in their own games. But we're not pieces on a chess board!

I have found one or two myself. Five or six teachers could conceivably handle a great number of students if we plan well.

Multiple teachers would be best. The Door is an unpredictable thing that can send people back on a whim, and different people are suited to different fighting styes.

[Not to mention that some people are not suited to have a teacher/student relationship with one another. She's fine with Anakin, but she can't imagine a timid pupil faring well with him.]

For instruction in the use of bladed weapons, yes. I'm not proficient enough in hand to hand combat or the use of firearms to teach.

Fair enough. Tell me what times you are free to teach and I will send out the word.

I will volunteer for late mornings. Perhaps it might be best if every person volunteering to teach taught at a different time. Then those who are athletic and looking for a challenge could conceivably attend every class, and those who are beginners and lack the endurance can pick and choose what they attend for the day.

Let's see how well that works out. If everyone wants to teach at the same time, I will stagger it out as much as possible while abiding by their wishes.

None of us have jobs that need to be accommodated. I imagine most people will be flexible. I'm not attached to late mornings if someone else really cannot teach any other time than that. I do think that instructors should try to commit to one time regularly if only to establish a steady routine for the students.

I'll keep all of that in mind. Once we acquire enough willing students, we can set up a tentative schedule until we find the right fit.
