[It's pretty early in the day when Ellie sends out a network wide cry for help.]

I'm bored as hell. Need something fun to do around here. First person to give me a great idea wins my undying gratitude and an IOU.

[That's it. She's out. Quite literally; the moment the video ends, Ellie is slinging her backpack over her shoulders and heading off on a walk, just to be doing something.

Boredom isn't the crux of the issue, in actuality. If she wasn't so intent on stubbornly clinging to her pride in front of a bunch of strangers, she'd admit she just wants someone to hang out with.

She misses him a lot, today.]

Big shrug, not that Rey can see it.]

Don't... really know how you're supposed to treat kids, so that probably, um. Helps.

[Well, helpful to whichever side benefits more from her lack of experience.]

[You know, says the kid. Whose opinion you can definitely trust.]

Anyway, I'm hanging up! I'll see ya soon.

[And just like that, she's gone. Ellie doesn't waste time. When she arrives at the bar, she strides in without knocking, and flops down near Rey like she's been in the place a million times.]

Hey. [Grin.]

Yes, oka--

[And she's hung up. All right.

[Rey does the same, and goes back to prioritizing the bar. She's taking some bottles of wine to take around the counter when Ellie helps herself inside and settles down immediately.

[She blinks at that grin.] Hey.

[Pause.]

Would you like anything?

[Ellie follows the wine with her eyes. It's not like she knows anything the taste or whether it'd be to her preference, but hey, it's alcohol. That's what she's here for.

She snaps up to look at Rey again when she speaks, grin growing impossibly wider. No wonder Rey is a little out of sorts, considering the way Ellie has generally acted around her in the past. But hey! She's a teenager. Mood swings are what she does.]

Ummm, hell yes?

[She doesn't specify what. Wouldn't know how to.]

[circumitus]

[Kids are so weird, what with all the emotional swings and moodiness and hormones. But maybe that confusion comes from someone who never was one herself.]

All right, then.

[She takes a couple glasses and one of the bottles, uncapping it before replacing the top with a bird's head pourer.

[What comes out is an absurd display as a bubbly red stream comes pouring out of the bird's beak and right into the glass.

[Rey may or may not have a tiny, amused smile as she fills up the two glasses. Seriously, these things are delightful.] Hehehe...

[Ellie initially thinks it's kind of dorky (if not fun), but it's when she hears Rey giggle that she gapes. Oh my god. Rey. Is laughing. She leans forward over the bar, grinning.]

I've never heard you laugh before!

[circumitus]

[Hey, Rey has laughed before! Just not around people... all that much. Come to think of it, there is a certain disposition that she still projects when around certain individuals. It comes as a bad habit, really.

[Suddenly she stops pouring, blinking.]

Oh. Um. Sorry?

[Ellie snorts, kicking back against the bar stool (and definitely not almost overbalancing and falling off).]

Why are you saying sorry? It's just nice to hear, dude!

[circumitus]

[And Rey is definitely not ready to jump in and catch Ellie's chair should she overbalance that thing and end up falling off. Not at all.]

Ah, okay. Will... work on that, some more. Here.

[She slides one glass over to Ellie while keeping the other for herself.]
