I'm bored as hell. Need something fun to do around here. First person to give me a great idea wins my undying gratitude and an IOU.

[That's it. She's out. Quite literally; the moment the video ends, Ellie is slinging her backpack over her shoulders and heading off on a walk, just to be doing something.

Boredom isn't the crux of the issue, in actuality. If she wasn't so intent on stubbornly clinging to her pride in front of a bunch of strangers, she'd admit she just wants someone to hang out with.

[Geez, some of the people here are younger than he expected; sure, he's never been able to judge age that well, but he's pretty certain Ellie looks like a young teenager. He can't help but wonder if the kids here just take care of themselves? Is there some sort of system or plan in place here to help them with things?

One more thing to think about, but for now he can just commiserate.]

It is incredibly boring here.

[And sure, he knows that's probably a good thing because it'll no doubt change and be horrible or something from the stories he's heard, but boredom can be just as horrible itself. He's not used to having absolutely nothing to do.]

If you figure something out, I'd love to know what it is. So far the best idea I've heard is sorting books at the library.

I haven't seen any, but possibly. So far I haven't found many books with pictures at all though, let alone comics, and most of the text is unreadable as well.

[Jade's napping on her bed when Ellie's post goes up, that's the only reason she doesn't notice it immediately. Chronic nightmares and fear of waking Ellie up with those nightmares, means Jade has been sleeping fitfully the last couple of nights, unable to force herself to sleep for more than a couple of hours at a time.

She's dozing, but not asleep enough to not notice when Ellie starts to leave the room. She sits up, running a hand tiredly through her hair as she calls after her new roommate.]

Ellie? Are you okay?

[What a pair they make... between the two of them and their equally awful sleep schedule, it's likely they've spent a few nights up late talking. Jade catches her right at the door of their room, and Ellie turns to smile at her ruefully.]
