No problem.

There's an Orchard on the far side of the city, across the river, if you need some food you don't have to cook. Plus there are cans of things that can be found in the abandoned stores.

Hopefully. Apparently there's some sort of general schedule that things occur according to, but I haven't heard many details on that.

having a schedule is useful until something comes along and disrupts it anyway. I wouldn't want to trust it too much

Very true; it definitely wasn't on my schedule to arrive here in the first place, and I doubt it was for anyone else either.
