[If she was an actually good public speaker, there might be a clear lead-in to this discussion, introducing the problems and exactly why these thoughts came up. Unfortunately, Marian expects everybody else to make the same intuitive leaps and skip straight past the boring explanation that everyone knows, kidnapped from our own dimensions, trapped, used for food, etc etc.]
If our positions were suddenly reversed, and we had full control over the Door and the parasites who currently run our lives, what would you do? Would you simply see the Door destroyed after everyone who wanted to go home was sent back, or would you leave it intact? If you stayed here instead, what would you do? Would you let the gods be, or would you interfere in any way with their conflict with the other aliens of this place on one side of the other? Are there other options you'd consider?
Explain your rationale clearly, regardless of the position you'd take.
Oh. Any idiots planning to argue that 'the gods are wonderful people, really' [enjoy an overly saccharine simpering impression there for those few words] spare us all your Stockholm-syndrome induced mawkish blithering. Nobody wants to hear it, least of all me.

And having my name over the door, of course.

What about the gods? Do they continue to have their 'events', or they starve? If confronted by their enemies, would you want to interfere? Why or why not?

Well certainly I wouldn't choose to stay. As for the Door, I'm afraid it may have to go. It seems to have a penchant for not only bringing them here and sending them away, but also for bringing them back again.

What about the "gods"?

Typical. You ask for well-reasoned arguments around here and get back nothing but self-centered psychos and grade-school level 'you first' responses. I don't know why I expected anything more.

voice;
Before you get all in a tizzy, too, some of us don't have worlds or lives to go back to. So I'd stay, if I could, and let the gods keep doing their thing. [ She would interfere with their war, too, if they were in danger. But she knows Marian doesn't want to hear that. ] Maybe there'd be more displaced people like me out there across all these different universes that'd want to stay too. Everyone else could come and go as they wanted, for a price. Whatever that would be. [ She doesn't care about fortune or fame attached to her name. ] It could be... kind of nice, I think.

"Nice". [She snorts.] Maybe.
So you don't think there should be any consequences for what they've done to some of us, against our will and wishes?

When I retaliated against the people who wronged me the first time, they responded by beheading my only friend and then hunting me for thirty years so. And that was just the first time. In my experience, it doesn't work out.

And honestly, that sounds like a pretty awful thing to happen to someone.]
...
I don't know if I can agree with it, but I get what you're saying.
It's just unfortunate that as things are now, they're going to keep hurting people because they can.
