003 [Video]

[For those familiar with Clinic, it can be recognized to be the backdrop for this broadcast; it's also probably easy enough to guess that Lance has just arrived there, because he's obviously drenched. It doesn't seem to bother him any, though, except for that his slightly ridiculous hair is now definitely long enough to fall into his eyes when wet, so he has to shove some of it out of the way before he can actually see the screen.

Despite being soaked he looks a little more vibrant and relaxed than usual, although in contrast his tone is quiet and sedate for the most part.]

Is the 'raining underground' thing strange even for here, or...?

[Because he hasn't been here that long and he's heard that it's snowed before, so maybe not? But the rain is totally not the point of this post, so he continues.]

But rain aside, I'd actually wanted to ask about the caves that branch off from the main cavern. I know they're supposedly difficult to navigate and filled with monsters, but have there been any coordinated efforts to explore them? And what sort of monsters exist in them?

[He does remember Maketh telling them there are paper records on some of the monsters at the Guard post, but as far as he's concerned that's really not too helpful. Besides, he'd rather hear that the general populace has to say, and talk to them individually on this.]

I go hunting there sometimes. Some of the cavern creatures are edible. The caves are admittedly challenging to navigate alone, though.

They do. I'm able to sense the presence of magic, so that helps me with navigation somewhat...but it's still best not to go alone.

I've never tried to avoid them. I go to the caves primarily to keep my fighting skills sharp and to hunt for food. It serves the side benefit of lessening the likelihood that a stray one will venture out of the caves and into town.

Somewhat. They tend to be rather aggressive and hostile toward anyone that enters the caves, so I rarely have to exert effort to find them.

[It was more of a challenge to wait for specific monsters to come along to hunt for food, and to avoid ruining her dresses.]

If you ever want to see them, you would be safe walking with me.

If you ever do choose to venture into the caves with me, I will show you which ones are edible.

[Because although she wouldn't recommend that someone with little combat experience venture in there alone, it's a useful thing to know.]

Of course. The offer was not made with an expiration date in mind. Self-defense and exercise are important things.

It was useful when the city was split in two. I was on the side with the limited food supply and infestation of monsters.

[Which hopefuly won't happen again, but she appreciates that practicality rather than him balking at the idea.]

That would be best. I saw lightning at one point. Training out in that with a metal object in hand would be...unwise.
