003 [Video]
[For those familiar with Clinic, it can be recognized to be the backdrop for this broadcast; it's also probably easy enough to guess that Lance has just arrived there, because he's obviously drenched. It doesn't seem to bother him any, though, except for that his slightly ridiculous hair is now definitely long enough to fall into his eyes when wet, so he has to shove some of it out of the way before he can actually see the screen.
Despite being soaked he looks a little more vibrant and relaxed than usual, although in contrast his tone is quiet and sedate for the most part.]
Is the 'raining underground' thing strange even for here, or...?
[Because he hasn't been here that long and he's heard that it's snowed before, so maybe not? But the rain is totally not the point of this post, so he continues.]
But rain aside, I'd actually wanted to ask about the caves that branch off from the main cavern. I know they're supposedly difficult to navigate and filled with monsters, but have there been any coordinated efforts to explore them? And what sort of monsters exist in them?
[He does remember Maketh telling them there are paper records on some of the monsters at the Guard post, but as far as he's concerned that's really not too helpful. Besides, he'd rather hear that the general populace has to say, and talk to them individually on this.]

Re: text

Lance briefly considers continuing responding with sass, but decides to try a different tactic for the moment. He can always return to sass, after all.]
I'm not entirely sure what's prompting the hostility.

The next most likely is that you're bored and don't have a better way to be spending your time.
Would you like to offer input, or should I keep going?
[Lance is not, honestly, putting a lot of thought into this analysis, mostly because it's probably not going to gain him anything other than probably just annoying Gren further, but that's its own reward.]
text
do you get off on vomitin a whole bunch of bullshit at people to make yourself feel fuckin superior
text
text
why dont you make my fuckin day and go walk right into the fuckin caves
ill get some popcorn
text
As I said before, if I wanted to do that I would've by now.
Do you have anything that's actually relevant or helpful to say?
text
ive been around the caves pretty fuckin often, so yeah. i could tell you a thing or two.

As far as that response, Lance feels like this is a setup and so his answer is very simple and noncommittal.]
Interesting.
[He's not going to play the game of asking, useful information or not. Besides, he's found that answering with 'interesting' tends to annoy people into continuing to explain, so might as well give it a shot here.]
text
probably.
[Gren also likes being purposefully unhelpful and obstructive, probably because he has authority issues. And anger issues. And just... issues.
text
If that's all, then thank you for your previous input. It was very useful.
[That level of sarcasm is readable through text, right?
And hey, at least he's not alone; might as well rename this place issuescave.]
text
what can i say im a fuckin giver
text
[He would've ended the conversation by now, but he's wondering if continuing to go back and forth a little might prompt something more useful.]
text
[Not like this guy seems like he'd be very useful in a fight. The doctor-types usually aren't.]
text
[It's... Very true that Lance is not the best fighter in the world. That said, he's definitely better than anyone usually expects, for what that's worth.]
