[Video] backdated to the 29th because I suck

[A blonde fifteen year old appeared on the screen, with the clinic in the background. He had a sunny, relaxed laziness to his demeanor, like a cat content in a sunbeam.]

Most of you may not have met me yet, I'm Will Solace, I arrived a few weeks ago. I'm working over at the clinic. I'm a surgeon, although I sincerely hope none of you ever need my help.

[Will really hopes everyone keeps their limbs attached, and their organs on the inside. Already, this place seems a lot calmer than Camp. No one's gotten maimed or anything.]

I wanted to let everyone know that Dr. Lee Rosen passed away earlier. The clinic will still be open of course to anyone who needs help.

[Will keeps glancing around, almost like he expects trouble, habits die hard. Especially those habits ingrained to keep you alive. No monsters yet.]

To that end I'm trying to fulfill his requests. Who is Frisk?

How are you doing on food? And in general? Dr. Rosen... Lee

[Will stumbles, still trying to figure out what to call. Guess it might not matter anymore]

He wanted me to check on you. Make sure you were eating real food. How's your five basic food groups?

[George appears on the screen, looking awkward as though she's unused to giving sympathy or caring about other people. because she's not.]

I'm, uh. Sorry about your friend.

[seems to consider a moment]

I needed to come over to get my stitches checked, see if they're ready to come out yet. I take it now's not a good time?

[George, Will had a feeling, had a lot in common with his boyfriend Nico. They were better after the person had died, dealing with the ghost or remnants. Feelings were harder for them]

Thanks George. Best we can do is remember him and keep the clinic open. So, please, come on by. I'll take them out for you.

[George tries to be good with the souls of those she takes. she's not always successful]

Who was he, if you don't mind me asking? And, sure, I'll be right over.

He was the head of the clinic here. I'm not sure who was in charge before he arrived. He was a good man, for what little time I knew him.

[Will starts setting up for her.]

I'll be here when you come.

[takes a moment to process this information]

Oh. Then I guess he was pretty important to a lot of people.

Okay, I'll be right over.

[ Pell was actually on his way to the clinic already, and the background of the video shifts like he's walking through the city. He'd wait until he got there, but the way this kid is talking it sounds like he thinks Rosen is dead-dead. ]

Thank you for holding down the fort, but has no one told you he'll be back? Hope resurrects the dead here.

[Will close the connection and finished washing his hands, grabbing some gloves and setting up his tools so they were all ready by the time she came in.]

I'm glad you've managed to stay away from here. How've you been?

[she knocks on the door before opening, then just sort of inches the door open and peeks inside. when she sees Will, she immediately looks a little more comfortable and comes all the way into the clinic]

So am I. I mean, this place is weird. And I've been--okay, I guess. Just been trying to keep out of trouble. How 'bout you?

[Well that was certainly big news. Something he would have thought Rosen would have mentioned to Will as he was handing over a to do list and instructions to watch over Frisk and make sure Lance actually ate real food.]

No one's mentioned it, no. In fact, I'm not entirely certainly Dr. Rosen knew that. Are you sure?

[ He's getting close to the clinic now, if Will can tell that from the surroundings on the video. ]

Positive -- I've been here a year and a half and seen it many times. Unless something is wrong with the gods people reappear in Hope's temple after a few days.

It's best to avoid dying just in case but he should be back soon.

I think most people try to avoid dying to begin with.

[Everyone except very certain people, like Rosen, who purposefully avoided getting help and refused to do anything bout his damn 'ghost', which Will was still a little pissed off about. It takes a lot to get him angry, but that? That got him angry.]

And they come back right? Like correctly?

[Will smiles at her at motions her in.]

You don't need to knock, just come on in. Especially if you get hurt. But, try not to get hurt.

[He took a breath, looking her over. She did look alright, granted the only problems he knew about since they met were the 'ghost' issue. Now that he thought about it, that was probably something she had under control.]

I've been here mostly, although I've been taking trips around this place, see if I can find anyone who might be hurt or can't make it in. But good.

[There hadn't been as much to do here. He was used to a little more mayhem.]

[short laugh] I'll try.

[yeah, she's been used to disembodied souls due to her time as a Grim Reaper. She hadn't had any trouble recognizing spirits for what they are]

Oh. That's--that's good of you. Going out to see if you can find people who need help.

[even more mayhem? there's enough mayhem for George's taste already]

As far as I've seen, yes. There are rumors that if you die too many times Hope starts getting things wrong, but I've never known it to happen.

[ He turns a corner, only a few blocks away now. ]

I'm almost to work, if you need help with anything.

Great, good to know. So, try not to die?

[As if that went without saying.]

I'm just double checking some supplies if you want to help.

Try not to die. Always.

I'll help. I just did inventory actually, while I was putting away supplies from the drive last week. The clipboard by the door should be up to date if that makes things easier.

[ Aaaaaand he's here. Will can hear him calling out in stereo now. ]

I've been in the clinic for the past few days, we probably crossed each other's path... It looks like the correct call was to kill our ghosts, mh?

Hopefully everyone will be back... because apparently that's how it works in this place. I'm no medic, let me know if you need any help anyway, I will stick around waiting for one of my friends to return anyway.

On Frisk... they're a really nice kid I see around now and then, why?

[Will shut off the phone's call when he heard Pell come in, hearing double. He turned to see the har and his gorgeous hair and poked his head out.]

Thanks. What happens when we start running low on supplies?

[It wasn't like you could just run to the pharmacy or something. He also wasn't sure what was going to happen if he ran out of ambrosia and nectar and he needed it. Was that something these Gods could actually replicate? ]

I think so. I killed mine and didn't suffer any of the effects I'm saw in the others. I don't think they were actually ghosts though.

So I hear that death isn't permanent in here. I hope that means Dr. Rosen will be back, and I'm sure everyone would appreciate any help.

Frisk is a kid? Dr. Rosen asked me to check in on them.

[Lance has a lot of feelings, of course, about this entire situation and what's happened and what needs to happen, but the method of dealing with them that he's employing at the moment is the 'pretend they don't exist' one. It isn't exactly denial; it's more like compartmentalizing, which is something he does pretty well when necessary.

That's part of the reason that he's not sure how he feels about Will messaging him about something so... Insignificant, he supposes is a good word, especially since apparently this is something Rosen asked him to do.

So his response is flat, with neither the sass that would be normally included nor any other emotion; everything he's feeling is mixed up together and then shoved aside, so it's difficult for any one thing to come through most strongly.]

I'm twenty-nine.

[In other words, he can take care of himself, and neither Will--nor Rosen--should be fussing over him.]

[Will moved a curtain closed so they had a little more privacy and then tugged on her shirt.]

Off.

[He was actually a little bored. Everyone could use a vacation now and then but Will was done, and he wanted to go back to re-attaching legs and treating campers who fell in lava pits.]

I'm trying. Hopefully I'll be able to help and won't just be monster bait.

[yay to privacy, no yay to having to take her shirt off. but she realizes the necessity of it and awkwardly tugs if off, draping it over a nearby chair]

[George, on the other hand, has been just barely getting by, sleeping in public buildings and stealing food, but is too embarrassed to say so]

I... like to think they were manifestations of our imagination or desires and no more, created to mirror what we... care about? I killed mine as well, in the end, I hope she didn't suffer too much...

[She pauses for a moment, almost tempted to ask about Kain but- he's probably dead for now]

It isn't, but it's certainly not pleasant as well- hopefully everyone will be back soon.

They are, I met them on the city's beach- when the Gods had us see one.I'm nnot sure if I have a way to contact them but I'm sure whoever takes care of the kids in this place probably knows...

[Will's pretty sure that's not the best way of dealing with these sort of things. He's all about compartmentalizing issues during periods of stress or urgency, but this was not one of those times. No one was bleeding to death on the floor, so Lance could probably afford to talk about things. Will was beginning to understand why Rosen asked him to check in on the man.]

I'm not sure what your age has to do with your ability to cook.

[Will looked at him like 'so?' He wasn't asking if he knew how to bathe himself, he was asking if he was going to starve to death. For all he knew he was subsisting off of bread in a can.]

I thought they were a hallucination at first, or a monster disguising themselves as a loved one. Maybe they could read minds. They weren't real, they couldn't be real. It's impossible. It was a trick, so, as much as we hope they didn't suffer, I don't think it matters in the long run.

[As far as Will was concerned that had not been his brother. His brother died and went to Elysium and Hades really wasn't the type to just open the Doors of Death and let souls out. It was much more likely it was a monster trying to kill them. And he was right.]

This place had a beach?

[Was that surprise in his voice, cause, this place didn't exactly scream beach resort.]

There are other kids here? Do you know how old?
