[A blonde fifteen year old appeared on the screen, with the clinic in the background. He had a sunny, relaxed laziness to his demeanor, like a cat content in a sunbeam.]

Most of you may not have met me yet, I'm Will Solace, I arrived a few weeks ago. I'm working over at the clinic. I'm a surgeon, although I sincerely hope none of you ever need my help.

[Will really hopes everyone keeps their limbs attached, and their organs on the inside. Already, this place seems a lot calmer than Camp. No one's gotten maimed or anything.]

I wanted to let everyone know that Dr. Lee Rosen passed away earlier. The clinic will still be open of course to anyone who needs help.

[Will keeps glancing around, almost like he expects trouble, habits die hard. Especially those habits ingrained to keep you alive. No monsters yet.]

To that end I'm trying to fulfill his requests. Who is Frisk?

[Will stumbles, still trying to figure out what to call. Guess it might not matter anymore]

He wanted me to check on you. Make sure you were eating real food. How's your five basic food groups?

[George, Will had a feeling, had a lot in common with his boyfriend Nico. They were better after the person had died, dealing with the ghost or remnants. Feelings were harder for them]

He was the head of the clinic here. I'm not sure who was in charge before he arrived. He was a good man, for what little time I knew him.

[ Pell was actually on his way to the clinic already, and the background of the video shifts like he's walking through the city. He'd wait until he got there, but the way this kid is talking it sounds like he thinks Rosen is dead-dead. ]

Thank you for holding down the fort, but has no one told you he'll be back? Hope resurrects the dead here.

[Well that was certainly big news. Something he would have thought Rosen would have mentioned to Will as he was handing over a to do list and instructions to watch over Frisk and make sure Lance actually ate real food.]

No one's mentioned it, no. In fact, I'm not entirely certainly Dr. Rosen knew that. Are you sure?

Positive -- I've been here a year and a half and seen it many times. Unless something is wrong with the gods people reappear in Hope's temple after a few days.

It's best to avoid dying just in case but he should be back soon.

I think most people try to avoid dying to begin with.

[Everyone except very certain people, like Rosen, who purposefully avoided getting help and refused to do anything bout his damn 'ghost', which Will was still a little pissed off about. It takes a lot to get him angry, but that? That got him angry.]

And they come back right? Like correctly?

I've been in the clinic for the past few days, we probably crossed each other's path... It looks like the correct call was to kill our ghosts, mh?

Hopefully everyone will be back... because apparently that's how it works in this place. I'm no medic, let me know if you need any help anyway, I will stick around waiting for one of my friends to return anyway.

On Frisk... they're a really nice kid I see around now and then, why?

I think so. I killed mine and didn't suffer any of the effects I'm saw in the others. I don't think they were actually ghosts though.

So I hear that death isn't permanent in here. I hope that means Dr. Rosen will be back, and I'm sure everyone would appreciate any help.

Frisk is a kid? Dr. Rosen asked me to check in on them.

I... like to think they were manifestations of our imagination or desires and no more, created to mirror what we... care about? I killed mine as well, in the end, I hope she didn't suffer too much...

[She pauses for a moment, almost tempted to ask about Kain but- he's probably dead for now]

It isn't, but it's certainly not pleasant as well- hopefully everyone will be back soon.

They are, I met them on the city's beach- when the Gods had us see one.I'm nnot sure if I have a way to contact them but I'm sure whoever takes care of the kids in this place probably knows...

I thought they were a hallucination at first, or a monster disguising themselves as a loved one. Maybe they could read minds. They weren't real, they couldn't be real. It's impossible. It was a trick, so, as much as we hope they didn't suffer, I don't think it matters in the long run.

[As far as Will was concerned that had not been his brother. His brother died and went to Elysium and Hades really wasn't the type to just open the Doors of Death and let souls out. It was much more likely it was a monster trying to kill them. And he was right.]

This place had a beach?

[Was that surprise in his voice, cause, this place didn't exactly scream beach resort.]

There are other kids here? Do you know how old?

[Lance has a lot of feelings, of course, about this entire situation and what's happened and what needs to happen, but the method of dealing with them that he's employing at the moment is the 'pretend they don't exist' one. It isn't exactly denial; it's more like compartmentalizing, which is something he does pretty well when necessary.

That's part of the reason that he's not sure how he feels about Will messaging him about something so... Insignificant, he supposes is a good word, especially since apparently this is something Rosen asked him to do.

So his response is flat, with neither the sass that would be normally included nor any other emotion; everything he's feeling is mixed up together and then shoved aside, so it's difficult for any one thing to come through most strongly.]

I'm twenty-nine.

[In other words, he can take care of himself, and neither Will--nor Rosen--should be fussing over him.]

[Will's pretty sure that's not the best way of dealing with these sort of things. He's all about compartmentalizing issues during periods of stress or urgency, but this was not one of those times. No one was bleeding to death on the floor, so Lance could probably afford to talk about things. Will was beginning to understand why Rosen asked him to check in on the man.]

I'm not sure what your age has to do with your ability to cook.

[Will looked at him like 'so?' He wasn't asking if he knew how to bathe himself, he was asking if he was going to starve to death. For all he knew he was subsisting off of bread in a can.]

[It's definitely not the best way to handle things long term, but he hasn't had the energy to work anything out yet and the last thing he really wants to do in Hadriel in general is risk saying or doing something out of emotion.

It's probably for the best anyway since this whole conversation would be--or is, but on some underlying level--annoying him, because as far as he's concerned asking if he's going to starve to death is just as big an insinuation that he can't take care of himself as anything else.]

It means I'm fine, and I'll manage. I appreciate that you're doing as Dr. Rosen asked you, but it's unnecessary and I'm sure you have more important things to focus on.

[Will watched him as best he could through the video. He didn't want to shrink the psychologist but Lance's behavior was kind of interesting. And a little bit worrisome.]

What makes you think you're not as important as anyone or anything else?

[Will could be wrong, but it looked an awful lot like Lance was pushing people away. Or was it him specifically? He didn't know him well enough yet to know which one it was. Or was it the attention specifically that bothered him?]

He'll be back in a few days. It might be jarring, and dying isn't ever easy - he might need help dealing with that when he gets back.

[Adam is not pleased that he has experience with this sort of thing, but at least maybe knowing it will help.]

I'll spend more time at the clinic - I'm not a doctor, but I can take on more of the tasks that don't need that kind of training. We'll manage until he gets back.

[He already spends a lot of time there and does a lot of smaller things, but every person down - dead or sent home or simply no longer interested in helping - means that the rest of them have to pull a little more of the weight.]

Dying isn't supposed to be easy. I imagine coming back is that much harder, both physically and emotionally.

[As far as he was concerned it was also supposed to be permanent, but maybe that was because he was dating one of Hades son's. It gave him a unique perspective.]

Does anyone know how it works? The coming back?

[He knew how Asklepius did it but they were far from his world.]

I think we'd all appreciate the help, but don't overtax yourself. I don't want to see you there as a patient. Deal?

Not in detail. The gods do it - or rather, Hope does it. It seems like he's the only one who can. After someone dies, a few days later they just wake up in his temple, good as new.

[It's alarming, frankly, but Adam has to admit that it's better than people dying permanently. This place would be so much worse if there were fewer of the people he trusts, people who tend to get themselves into dangerous and deadly situations.]

I'll make sure not to work too hard. But you ought to do the same, you know.

It is a terrible thing to return from, a blasphemy to use life and death in such a way, but at least we won't lose our people forever. [ She's not big on people bringing the dead back because death happens for a reason and returning to life, forcibly, could result in the buildup of Malice. Though, she may not have felt any of such force here, it's always a possibility that runs through her mind. ]

I, too, wish it were under better circumstances but I've found I've met some of the best people I've known in life through such tragedy and death.

I digress, though. I have with me a handful of roots native to my own world. I've managed to avoid using them due to my general lack, though I'm certain if I brought them before one of these deities I could get a steady supply growing. Each type of root has different properties, some capable of taking care of wounds, others help in the regeneration of spiritual ability, and another can renew one's magical vigor.

[ Later, on the evening of the 29th. Curufin is looking like hell, due to ghost-draining syndrome and the loss of his live relatives as well as his dead ones. But he's beginning to recover already. Elves are tough. ]

I'm very sorry to hear about Dr. Rosen, but I'm not surprised. He loved his daughter enough to die for her.

He'll be back, I'm sure. [ Amending that. ] I hope. [ Pun intended. ]

In the meantime, it looks as though you have assistance. And I was going to say, if you run out of supplies, we can always ask the community to help again.

I am also on call to the clinic, if there is an emergency that doesn't require my immediate energy as a Guard. I don't have healing skills, but I am capable in first aid, if needed. And I have already volunteered myself as a sort of ambulance service -- I'm strong, if you ever need an injured person carried to the clinic.

[Will thought that was foolish, especially considering it wasn't actually his daughter. And it was way too late for him to do anything about it. It really irritated him when people didn't ask for help. Kind of like you right now.]

That's good to know. I've started making rounds around the city to see if I can find anyone who might be hurt who can't make it to the clinic. I can carry who ever I find but it's good to know that you're available if there's more than one person hurt.

[Will narrowed his eyes at him and scowled.]

But at the moment, I'd say you're not going anywhere but here. I can boost your healing rate and then you're resting. Doctors orders.

[Because you really look like hell. Trust him, his boyfriend's from there. He's kind of an expert.]

[ Oops! Curufin forgot to switch to text so that Will's sharp eyes couldn't note how he looked. Normally he's skilled at the game of Evade the doctor, but today he is off his game. Oh well. Probably Will is right. ]

[ Curufin doesn't think the phantoms he has seen here are really ghosts. At least, to him, they're not negligible. He believes they have not only distinct identities, but consciousness. And he treats them as though they matter. He's an Elf of the First Age, and they define things differently than others do. And so when he had happened upon Rosen and his daughter, he hadn't by any word or sign treated Danielle as anything less than Rosen's daughter. But when he had left them, it was with much sadness, for he knew Rosen's decision was going to cost him his life. Still. . . it was his life. ]

Good. I will help if I can.

[ But ooh, that scowl! ] All right, Dr. Solace. [ Smile. ] I'll be compliant for once in my life. [ But probably only once! ]

[ Curufin won't argue that one. Having a relative or a partner who acquaints one with hell on a regular basis is an invaluable experience. XD ]
