[Video] backdated to the 29th because I suck
[A blonde fifteen year old appeared on the screen, with the clinic in the background. He had a sunny, relaxed laziness to his demeanor, like a cat content in a sunbeam.]
Most of you may not have met me yet, I'm Will Solace, I arrived a few weeks ago. I'm working over at the clinic. I'm a surgeon, although I sincerely hope none of you ever need my help.
[Will really hopes everyone keeps their limbs attached, and their organs on the inside. Already, this place seems a lot calmer than Camp. No one's gotten maimed or anything.]
I wanted to let everyone know that Dr. Lee Rosen passed away earlier. The clinic will still be open of course to anyone who needs help.
[Will keeps glancing around, almost like he expects trouble, habits die hard. Especially those habits ingrained to keep you alive. No monsters yet.]
To that end I'm trying to fulfill his requests. Who is Frisk?
[private to Lance Sweets]
How are you doing on food? And in general? Dr. Rosen... Lee
[Will stumbles, still trying to figure out what to call. Guess it might not matter anymore]
He wanted me to check on you. Make sure you were eating real food. How's your five basic food groups?

Re: [Video--Private]
[Was life here an exception to the rules? Will wasn't sure. Maybe because he hadn't been here long enough, and he didn't know the Gods here. Maybe it was time to change that.]
But although Lance is not the type to dismiss the importance of moral and emotional implications of a subject, he's just not up to thinking that deeply about it right now either.]
Regardless of how we feel about it, it's what happens here.
[It's not like they can do anything about the subject, and pragmatism is a lot simpler at the moment.]
Re: [Video--Private]
[Will paused, looking at Lance through the screen. He'd been here longer than Will had, but not as long as some.]
Have you had a lot of experience with it? Here?
[If Rosen came back, would he be weak? Recovering from death? or would he spring up as if he'd just had one of Nico's happy meals?]
[Lance spoke with Sorrow, but otherwise hasn't really talked to the gods much himself. He has enough he's focusing on worrying about without adding talking to the gods into it.
He shakes his head at the question.]
I don't. I know of a few people it's happened to, but I haven't seen any of them in person since.
[And he doesn't have any personal experience, which he'd like to keep that way; he isn't sure if he died at home, or just was going to and something was altered to make it so he didn't here, but either way it was more than a close enough call that he has no interest in repeating such an experience.]
Re: [Video--Private]
[Maybe it was different for Will, he was used to dealing with the Gods. He was used to the Gods asking them to do stupid things for them. Like fetch their magical dry cleaning, save the world, that sort of thing. From what he could tell, this was all new to Lance. His world wasn't like that.]
I'll ask. Maybe they have a manual.
[Okay probably not, but if you didn't ask, you'd never know.]
[But he doesn't think it's necessarily polite either, or if it is that it's needed. It's not like any of them asked to be here.
The idea of a manual earns raised eyebrows, but he's amused more than incredulous.]
It's worth asking. I think there's some information in the newcomer guide, but I don't remember anything particularly detailed.
[But he hasn't read it in awhile.]
Re: [Video--Private]
Oh, no it could totally hurt. I could get roped in to who knows what, or turned into a blueberry bush.
[Will shrugged, totally at ease with how badly this could go.]
But, I don't know these gods. I could be wrong. They're not the Greeks. Maybe they have more....impulse control. Besides I'd rather get to know them now than when I needed something.
You're making me regret agreeing to this idea.
[Is this what people feel like when they talk to him? Is this why everyone yelled at him about the caves thing?]
From what I've heard from other people, and talking to one of them myself, they're not particularly vengeful. But still, be cautious.
Re: [Video--Private]
[Yeah this was quite possibly the exact reason everyone yelled at him because of the caves thing. Will would like to think he knew what he was doing. But then again, so did Sweets.]
That's good to know. More easy going then. I'll be careful. I'll bring offerings or something. Everyone likes gifts.
[He wasn't exactly sure what these gods would like though, considering they created most of the things in here]
[Because if you're a tree and don't know you were a human, aren't conscious, etc, then isn't it like being dead or at least in a coma? And if you're a tree and do know you're a human, that doesn't sound peaceful at all. That sounds like a horror movie premise.]
Which one are you planning to talk to?
Re: [Video--Private]
[He briefly considered asking Thalia, but a. the daughter of Zeus didn't seem likely to answer that question and b. he'd probably never see her.]
I was thinking starting with Hope first, then maybe Tranquility. They seem like the closest to my dad's domains, and then I'd reach out to the rest.
[Until you get cut down with a chainsaw or something. He decides not to mention that.
He nods a little at the answer about which gods to speak with; hopefully a god called Hope can't be that bad of a choice to talk to. Same with Tranquility.]
Those sound like good choices.
[He wants to offer to help, but realizes that in this situation it's probably better for Will to speak with them himself; Lance is, of course, not all that familiar with gods, and who knows how close their behaviors and thoughts will be to those of a human.
So instead--]
I'd like to hear what you find out.
Re: [Video--Private]
I hope so. I'll absolutely let you know what I hear from them. If I hear from them. Gods don't always respond.
He lets silence hang for a moment, before refocusing and speaking again.]
If you need anything, let me know.
[About the whole gods thing, if he wants, but Lance more means about the original topic of this entire post, and his softer tone reflects that.]
