It has come to my attention that a number of you do not like Dr. Sweets. I did not like him either when I first met him, so this is understandable.

In an effort to help strengthen his standing within the community, I am requesting that you please state if you do or do not like Dr. Sweets, and why. Please also respond if you are indifferent on him, as more data will allow me to form a more complete and accurate conclusion.

No. I disliked him because of his persistent attempts to apply his training to my partner and me even outside of our sessions with him.

Ah, now you make more sense - that is a far more logical reason to dislike someone. You should have mentioned that, you know! And you might mention it to Dr Sweets as well, as doubtless he would not be pleased to realise he overstepped his bounds.

I am surprised you do not wish to completely forget that week, like most people seem to. We did have a pleasant conversation, so I am not opposed to meeting properly now that we are our true selves again.

It... was nice to have... pleasant memories, for a change. So I... do not mind it, as much as some. But it would be good to learn of those who I considered friend in a dream, and see if those relationships might be able to be built in truth.

I have many pleasant memories, but very few of any kind of memory of my time here, so I do not find that I am affected much by what occurred.

That is good! I am but newly arrived, myself. But it was ... nice. To be able to have, for a while, a happy home with neither war nor grief to darken it. Unrealistic, I know, but nice all the same.

The absence of difficult memories was interesting to experience, but I still prefer my reality.

That is a waste of time. If you are aware it is impossible and yet still dwell on it, you are engaging in a completely useless thought pattern.

It is. But it is one that many find themselves drawn into, for who does not have regret?

If it is a brief thought of regret, then it is to be expected. Otherwise, there are greater problems at work.

That is only because the worst things to happen in my life were not my fault. Luck has nothing to do with it. There are no larger patterns to life, merely cause and effect, randomness.

That makes you doubly fortunate, then - for far too often the ills that befall us are of our own making, more often than not! And I think the pattern is there, but it takes many lifetimes of Men to see.

I disagree on both points, but I see that you will cling to superstition regardless of what I say.

O child! Live as long as I have and the patterns become ever more clear. But I don't think a human's lifespan can see them, really. It has been Three Ages of the Sun, and only now are some things becoming clear.

Logically, I know that. And for a human, you are remarkably mature. But in some ways you are all children to me, who has seen so many generations of you come and go.
