Well... seems like there's a few of you who are ready to sell us out.

[His voice is soft- not really angry, but there's a sinister lilt to it.]

And here I thought we were all growing to be one big, happy family. I can't say I'm fond of the necessity of weeding out spies in our city, but... listen, we're all in a flurry about this. We need to do something, and everyone wants a say in how we're supposed to move forward from here.

[Which has been a headache and a half for all of the gods. Sure, they get along in the grand scheme of things, but there's definitely a little clash of ideals going on, and frankly, Fear is tired of the arguing.]

So what I thought we'd do is to have you vote on who's in charge here. Who takes action and comes up with a game plan on how we're going to suss out what the Null are planning. Obviously, Sorrow wants to be our fearless leader, but his methods are a little... direct. Delight and Rage would probably have a little murder mystery party when they get back, Tranquility and Confusion- I'm not sure if they'd actually do anything at all, come to think of it.

[Christ, this is a mess.]

As far as Love and myself go... I can think of a few people I'd like to personally interrogate.

Anyway, cast your votes or ask your standard slew of questions. Yes, I realize that some of the dissenters will be voting, yeah I know that you all want to be in charge instead- there's probably a few of us who might bend our ears to you, but as we can't put a hundred people in charge, it's gonna be one of us.

Is this not what you expected?

[For once, Regis just sounds tired. Tired and possibly agitated by this turn of events. He's said his peace once before and now it seems that all of this squabbling has come to a vote. The old king is fearful of what may happen next, especially now.]

Treating us like mere cattle gives none of us the incentive to remain loyal.

Wild, isn't it? Our undoing being the very beings we used to try and save us.

[He laughs, though there isn't much humor to it.]

Who could have possibly seen this coming?

Such a tale wouldn't have begun if you and brethren hadn't partook in such treachery. [Goodness, does Regis even have the energy to explain any of this? His weariness stems from the conversation at hand here but he seems determined to speak. Let it be known that Regis was one of the few who denied the Null.]

Do you know of the treachery I speak of? The very one that would tear families asunder, enslave the masses to endless torture and continue to deny their freedom. Sooner or later desperation was bound to take root because this what you and the others sowed.

I was being sarcastic.

I don't think any of us really love the fact that we have to do this type of thing to get what we need- but necessity and desperation have always played powerful roles in everything that we do. If you don't agree, then it's likely you don't understand the whole situation.

You do me a great disservice for I understand far better than you realize.

[Regis knows there's no clear answer to be had in all this but something needs to give. Either those stolen will up rise against their captors or their captors will slay them. There's nothing else that can be done.]

Fear itself has a limit as to how long it lingers in the hearts of men. Soon they will not fear you and soon they'll rise against you all. That much certain if you continue to choose this path.

Well, if you no longer hold fear in your hearts, then you die just as quickly as I do.
