Well... seems like there's a few of you who are ready to sell us out.

[His voice is soft- not really angry, but there's a sinister lilt to it.]

And here I thought we were all growing to be one big, happy family. I can't say I'm fond of the necessity of weeding out spies in our city, but... listen, we're all in a flurry about this. We need to do something, and everyone wants a say in how we're supposed to move forward from here.

[Which has been a headache and a half for all of the gods. Sure, they get along in the grand scheme of things, but there's definitely a little clash of ideals going on, and frankly, Fear is tired of the arguing.]

So what I thought we'd do is to have you vote on who's in charge here. Who takes action and comes up with a game plan on how we're going to suss out what the Null are planning. Obviously, Sorrow wants to be our fearless leader, but his methods are a little... direct. Delight and Rage would probably have a little murder mystery party when they get back, Tranquility and Confusion- I'm not sure if they'd actually do anything at all, come to think of it.

[Christ, this is a mess.]

As far as Love and myself go... I can think of a few people I'd like to personally interrogate.

Anyway, cast your votes or ask your standard slew of questions. Yes, I realize that some of the dissenters will be voting, yeah I know that you all want to be in charge instead- there's probably a few of us who might bend our ears to you, but as we can't put a hundred people in charge, it's gonna be one of us.

Okay. So. There's like, one of each of you for different emotions, right? Back when there was more of you, was it the same way? No two people for one emotion, or was there overlap? And were you guys born or did you just sorta start to exist one day?

[The last question might be a little invasive, but Prussia's not one for tact.]

We're more like a specific set of roles, each living in unique clusters. There are many Fears, many Sorrows, many Loves- but each belonging to their own city.

[He shrugs.]

We are created by our predecessors. Another Fear created me.

Belonging to a city, huh. So like, as a city gets bigger, or one starts up, a new emotion's born and placed there?

[He thinks it over. It is a little similar to him, then, but not the same. He's wondering if he should explain why he's asking all this, then. There isn't too many people he's told here about the nation thing, only because humans often don't quite get it, or even believe it.]

I get it. It's kinda the same for me, then. I'm not really human, ya know. I'm a nation, like you're an emotion.

More like, a population gets too large for one set of gods to control it, so they all create offspring and section off a percentage of the population for their offspring to raise.

[That's interesting though.]

[Ok, usually the concept of a nation-person is the hard part, not explaining what just a normal nation is.]

Oh, uh, kinda? More like cities are parts of nations. Larger territories. Well, anywhere from tiny to huge, it depends on the nation. Anyway, that's what a nation is, and that's what I am. We're connected. If the nation is big 'n strong, so're we. And let me tell ya, I'm one of the biggest and strongest!

[Was one of the biggest. Now he's nothing. His nation hasn't existed in over seventy years.]

I suppose. Interesting. So you have the emotion of an entire nation of people inside of you?

Kinda, yeah. Patrotism's a good feelin'! And the better the nation's doing, the better I feel. Which is why I'm healthy as ever and stronger than anyone!

[He is still, illogically, super strong. Health-wise, well, not so much as he should have ceased to exist decades ago. But he's doing pretty well considering that.]

Every nation's got a person like me, no matter how big 'r small. Territories do too. There's this old military platform installation out in the ocean that someone decided to declare a country, exploiting some loopholes, and even they got someone.
