I have an idea that might help us protect Hope and see who makes a move against him. Annabeth, do you still have your cap?

Well, Hope's temple is the most likely place people will hit right? If anyone's stupid enough to try and take the Null's suggestion and go after Hope. We work in shifts, see who goes in and out and if anyone makes a move, well, I know both of you are more than capable of handling it.

I'm not sure. Would he be able to sense someone there? Would that just make him more paranoid? I'd be invisible, not undetectable.

Not hard at all. I just went into his temple and started talking. He appeared. So I continued.

He doesn't kill either.

I don't agree that murder is the answer here but... why do we want to help either of them? Aren't the gods the ones responsible for dragging us here?

That's the post, yeah.

The gods say they don't know how to work the Door actually, that it's seperate from them. That being said, they're not real inclined to work hard on the matter since they're benefiting from it.

But Hope is the one who keeps everyone alive and fed, so, it's in our interests to keep him alive.

If you think it's the best way to go. [He'll go with Will's judgement on this one. Being alive so they can get home - yeah, it's unnatural, but... getting home is more important, and being fed too.] What do you want me to do?

[Yeah Will isn't sure if the gods are telling the truth on that but he has to give them kudos for admitting that even if they are, they don't really want too. At least they're not lying?]

It's definitely better than letting Hope die. These Null aren't going to just let us go when they're done with the gods.

You can still do the son of Hades thing right and wrap yourself in darkness? Just watch. See who is coming in and out and if you see someone making a move, well, I think you've probably got it handled.

I'm not sure. He wasn't there when I first talked to him but he appeared. Like gods do.

How is guarding the temple all the time going to help protect him if he's not there all the time? Are we supposed to just wait for someone to walk in and call on him?

Well, unless you want to go ask them where they go when they're not around? It might not be anywhere we can go too. And everyone who has been taken by the Door has to play by the same rules, right? They can't leave the cave, even if Hope can.

I think it's not a bad idea of rooting out people who can't be trusted but... how long would we be doing this for? Would it be just us three?

I wonder if there's anyone here who can use magic and can set some sort of mental alarm on the door that lets us know when someone enters Hope's temple. We wouldn't need many people that way, just someone that can be trusted.

I'm also wondering how tough these gods are. Has anyone ever killed any one of them before?

I don't know. It's a possibility? I just wasn't sure who to trust.

I haven't heard good things about the Guard.

But these gods? From what I've been able to piece together? They were a whole family. Or species. Something. There were more of them. I think the Null killed all the rest.

I'm not sure if that says something about how strong the Null are or how weak and unorganized these gods are.

And the Null are the things that want to get rid of Hope?

Sounds to me like once they wipe them out, they'd wipe us out next.

Yeah, I think so too. But not everyone believes that though.

There are a few who are openly siding with the Null. Some members of the Guard included.
