I need for it to be true. There's no point in moving forward otherwise. [No point in trying. If he is destined to lose Padmé, not raise his kids and live the rest of his days in a mechanical suit, he sees no point in striving for any sort of happiness. All he can really hope for is cheap revenge when/if Obi-Wan or Sidious arrives.]
