[Text] (With Pictures!)

So it's day 2 of Ikea madness,
and I figured we should set up some kind of cragslist situation,
so that people can get rid of things they really don't want.
Or if you for some reason feel like filling your house with this stuff
follow your dreams?

Anyway I found this yesterday:

[Attached is a photo of a very odd table, the front half of it, anyway. It's sticking out of an apartment wall at an odd angle, legs mostly horizontal. There's a second photo of the back half, which appears to be in another room.

A jacket is hanging off of one of the hooves. Looks like someone has found a use for it, at least.]

If anyone knows how to get this out of the wall
without like, destroying said wall
they're welcome to it.
But to be honest I'm kind of getting used to it.
Might call it "Dave".
This I'm not too keen on:

[Another image, this one of a kind of unsettling chair.]

Frankly you can just have it.
Please.

[Everyone is welcome to post their new furniture they don't want, or offers to acquire more. Michael is not going to moderate, but it's a platform at least!]

I have known of several men who were capable of flight but it seems like such work to sit. And where would one find an end table to fit beside it? I'm afraid a chair where I can't have a place to put a book and good cup of tea is a useless chair.

Why not saw down the legs to an acceptable height? And then you'll either have a less spooky chair in your room or it'll be much easier to sell.

There are a few cultures in which certain items can be possessed by an evil spirit for misuse, which I think may come primarily from Japanese culture, though I can't be quite certain. I've never had the chance to visit the country.

You're lucky, though, because you're speaking with an exorcist!
[ so if it is possessed, she can take care of it ]

That's quite the assumption. Possession is quite a common occurrence, especially in areas like these where the Malice is particularly high. I bet you there are even things in this place possessed or capable of such skill.

don't even worry about it!!

[ The question doesn't seem to faze nor does the change in topic. ]

It's... It's like the buildup of hatred and vengeance and all the negativity humanity has. It can possess people and when an area of the world is practically soaked with Malice, for instance, old prisons are often avoided due to the haunting of the Malice, it changes everything around it. It drives people and animals mad and even turns them into monsters.

I suppose so, yes, though not all spirits are evil or exist to bring us harm. Some exist out of their own wills rather than that of Malice although they can be tainted by the Malice and turned into something else. I knew one spirit, one of a young woman from China, who would kill one person from her village every night. She didn't do so because she wanted to, she was forced into it by a sorcerer with a dark heart.

It was an honest tragedy to witness but I'm lucky to have been there. We were able to release her bonds and send her on her way.

As for monsters, Malice can take a dead dog or cat, or the souls of any creature killed in a tragic way, and change them into something grotesque and dangerous. What type of monster they turn into depends on the situation, location, and even element type they may have been connected to. They often attack humans on sight and can be difficult to deal with if you're caught unaware or have no innate offensive or defensive skill. It's often why people like myself are hired to investigate and take care of the issue.

My, you're very curious!

Once possessed, it's unlikely that the Malice will leave its host because it's already changed it. They're intertwined until someone releases them. There are ways for humans to make pacts with Malice souls but those people are few and far between. The last one I knew—know—took on a soul that over-powered him and he destroyed Shanghai; that's what happens when you are incapable of properly forming the pact, resulting in true madness and a loss of self.

Not all of it, no, but most of the city burned for a whole night. It's not an image I could ever forget; it reminds me that with our powers come things we may not be able to control.

It's a rarity, no worries.
