Hey, Hadriel. My name's Drake, I'm... not exactly new, but figure I should introduce myself anyway since I'm about to ask a personal question. I'm from a human world where there isn't any magic. But I keep hearing that people here have powers and I'm curious what kinds. I've met a couple healers, and that's pretty amazing. And helpful -- thanks, guys, if you're watching.

So. What can you do?

[ The feed shifts like he's about to turn it off, then thinks better of it and adds: ]

You need your voice to chant, it helps focusing... and one of the easiest ways to neutralize a magical team is to mute the casters. Fortunately enough there are items that can cure or prevent that. Still, without mana...

[She giggles nervously]

Of course I have. There's a spell, osmose, that allows me to steal mana from others and ethers can provide me the missing mana. It doesn't really hurt me when I'm low on mana, I'm just... useless?

[It can cost Rydia her life, of course, but that's the main reason she travels with companions who can cover her while she drinks down ethers.]

I... black magic and white magic doesn't necessarily exclude each other, sages are known because they mastered both. The point is... most people only specialize in one kind of school to get the most out of it. In my case it's a bit different and I- don't think I can heal anymore..

Hey you're not useless without magic. There's a ton of us here with none at all.

[ He doesn't sound offended, just encouraging. ]

Are you sure? There are a couple of healers here, they might be willing to work with you. The clinic always needs help, too.

No no- I mean, I'm not exactly strong, physically speaking, and if I run out of magic all I can do is hide behind others and wait while drinking ethers or hoping that someone can restore part of my mana! I didn't mean to lack respect, there are plenty of wonderful people who don't use magic and if anything I think it's incredible how you can manage to do everything without it!

[Really, it's just "Rydia" who feels a bit useless without her magic.]

I'm sure. As far as I know I can no longer heal with my magic- I still remember the spells but I fail at using them. If anything I told the healers, a bit ago, that I'd be avaiable to put people to sleep if ever needed.
