¹ The one where you get endless free drinks within immediate walking distance and all the nightmares of your world come to life to haunt you, while your own reflection laughs at you from a pocket dimension nearby.

try the southwest side of the city, fewer people come over here scavenging because there aren’t as many housing options so the walk is further

Anything especially horrible keeping a guy from shacking up in one of those ruins instead of the designated housing areas?

I'm a fan of caves, myself, but it sounds like it might be tough to find a vacancy, what with all the horrible monsters calling dibs on the good spots.

some of those monsters are from my world so i honestly wouldn't recommend fighting for dominance unless you think you can get the upper hand on some cannibalistic slippery naked guys
