[Here's a face no one's seen for the last three weeks or so: one very bewildered-looking Kamina, incredibly grimy and probably not smelling too fresh, from the looks of him. There's a very ragged bag over one shoulder, and what looks like the remains of several yeti furs behind him as he frowns into the camera.]

Yo, Kamina here. What's the hell's going on? I'm gone for a week and it sounds like there's been a war. Someone wanna tell me what I missed?

[The last thing he sees before she shuts off the feed is a smile that's equal parts touched and proud. Found families are the only family Z's got, after all.

She makes her way over to the caves at a good clip. As she gets closer, she shrugs off her bag and pulls out a water bottle and a protein bar, never once slowing in her walk. The last time she came to the caves to meet Kamina, they were going monster hunting together. Now, she's welcoming him back to the city.

And here she'd thought that not signing up for the welcoming committee had gotten her out of this kind of thing.

She's grinning as she approaches him, nodding as she calls out a greeting. Once she's close enough that he can see, Z holds out the gifts in her hands.]

Here you go, bro. [It's a little weird, calling someone other than Jack her bro, but it's also nice to have someone she can start to trust like that here.] Next time, I'm packing your bags for you before you head out, got it? [The teasing is good-natured, her smile never faltering.]

[Hey, Kamina doesn't use that word with just anyone! But she's definitely earned it. She helped him out when he was just getting started here, and the two of them fought together in the caves not too long ago. And even now, she's catching him up on the details and making sure he's fed. She's a good one, and he's definitely glad she's part of his circle here.

He's still waiting where he was when she comes to find him, sitting cross-legged on a heap of yeti fur--his only concession to the danger is the sword laying across his knees instead of sheathed at his side. When he sees her, he jumps to his feet, sheathing his sword and waving with a grin. She called him bro, too. Good. It should always be a mutual thing.]

Hey, thanks! Next time I'll definitely be better prepared. You gonna come with me, next trip? There's still a lot of tunnels out there, one of them's gotta connect to the surface!

[So long as we're not just throwing the word around, we're definitely cool. It's kind of a big deal, you know?]

We'll see. I'm part of the city watch now. It's not anything really official yet, but the idea is that we patron the city for monsters and fight them off so nobody gets hurt. Or at least, nobody who can't fight gets hurt. Maybe when I'm off duty?

[She's not really sure yet how the schedule is going to work, or if she'll even have enough time off shift to bother venturing into the caves. Kamina was gone for a long time, and Z's not sure that would fly with the watch.]

At least I can be sure you weren't freezing in there. [She nods towards the furs. He was safe. She's glad.
