[The broadcast starts with Jo centered pretty well, and she's talking up a storm. Well, for a few moments anyway. The video, despite her lips moving, is silent and she stops mid-sentence to clear her throat.

Her voice does not return and her expression falls, a frown settling itself firmly on her face. Fuck. Something was wrong. Actually she wasn't sure if she couldn't speak or hear, but both were troublesome.

The video ends abruptly. Seconds later, a text follows.]

Is it safe? What's going on?

I'm at Hope's temple, I think. I don't know if I can get there.

I will.

[ He leaves the Firehouse and makes his way across the city to Hope's temple. He only has to kill a few Null on the way, so it doesn't take him long. When he comes to the temple doors, Jo is waiting, and he smiles in greeting. ]

FedEx man, bringing your weapons, straight to your doorstep! Or rather, Hope's doorstep. [ And he unships the shotgun which is slung at his back. The other one, of course, is still in his hand. He gives her the one that is meant for her. And then he digs in his satchel and pulls out a revolver and hands it over, butt first. ]

Here you go. And I have some ammo for you, too. [ He pulls out a couple of wooden boxes full of the rounds and shells that he himself has hand-loaded. ]

[He arrives sooner than Jo expects, but that's good. It means the city isn't as full of killer robots as she fears.

The shotgun is accepted and she takes a second to look it over before slinging it over her shoulder and taking the pistol.]

[ Actually, it is still full of killer robots, but they're all taking a break at the coffee cart at the moment. XD No, just kidding. The Hadrielites have reduced their numbers considerably. ]

You're welcome. And if you run out of ammo, come to the Firehouse. I've got shotgun shells and a couple of calibers of handgun ammunition there. If I'm not there, just ask whoever is.

[ He's got a great little reloading operation that he moved from his workshop to the Firehouse, which is a more convenient location for everybody. ]

You're very welcome. Is there anything else you need? If you want to leave the temple soon, I can go with you and make sure you get wherever you're going.

I need to get to the hot springs. [She isn't going to ask for help, not now.]

All right, then let us go.

[ She may not be asking, but it sounds as though she needs the help. And he gestures at the big temple doors. He goes to them and pushes them open, steps out and takes a careful look around, and then signals to her to come. ]

Coast is clear at the moment.

You woke up without your voice, I take it? [ He's been wondering about this. He's heard of people coming back without all their faculties, and it's worrisome. ]

[Jo is already loading the shotgun and rather than interrupt the familiar task to pull out her phone she nods as an answer.

She follows him out the door and waits for him to lead the way.]
